Natural Building & Renewable Energy Workshop – Jessup, MD

The Green Building Institute (GBI), in partnership with Solar Energy International, is bringing a unique renewable energy workshop to Maryland’s EnviroCenter – a professional green office center.

Beginning Monday, November 14th, the five-day workshop will give participants an overview of solar, wind, and water power as well as an excellent introduction to the art and science of natural building materials, techniques, and design considerations for straw bale, adobe, pressed block, cob, natural plasters, and more.

Participants in the Natural Building & Renewable Energy workshop will also learn how to use photovoltaic (PV) technology to safely produce their own solar electricity on-grid. Participants will learn system sizing, site analysis, hardware specification, and component selection for NEC code compliant systems. This workshop is ideal for those newly interested in the technologies of Solar Electricity and Natural Building and seeking to apply such ideas to their home or business venture. Tuition cost of the five-day workshop is $550.
