MyYoungChild. org's New Listen Along Stories About Values Help Children Learn To Read

MyYoungChild. org, a web site of free online stories, which teach values to children 3-7, has added a new component to the site: 8 of the 16 beautifully illustrated stories now have an audio component.

Barrington, IL (PRWEB) April 5, 2010

MyYoungChild. org (http://www. MyYoungChild. org/), a web site of free online stories, which teach values to children 3-7, has added a new component to the site: 8 of the 16 beautifully illustrated stories now have an audio component. “We wanted to give parents and teachers the option to either read these stories aloud to their children, or to listen to the stories with them,” said Wilbur S. Edwards, President of the non-profit Early Parenting Foundation. The read-aloud feature adds an important component to the site: listening to a story while reading along is a valuable way for children to learn how to read. With repeated ‘read-alouds,’ children begin to pick out and recognize the words of a story, especially with the guidance of a loving parent, caregiver or teacher. Reading stories out loud to children develops children’s oral development, an important stepping stone to reading. The read-along feature will also enable children to read the story on their own, after they have initially read it with an adult. Audio will be added to the remaining eight stories by early summer.

The site has grown in popularity since its launch three years ago. Many parenting and religious organizations list MyYoungChild. org as a valuable resource and the site has become popular with educators, who link their classroom website to the site. In the last month alone, people from over seventy different countries visited MyYoungChild. org. Additionally, the site has 1,705 followers on Twitter, primarily parents who want to share it with others. MyYoungChild. org has also garnered attention from the press for the innovative, fresh quality of the stories and the illustrations, which teach children values in simple terms.

Some of the topics the stories deal with are: learning right from wrong, sharing at school, respecting friends and grandparents, telling the truth, being fair and responsible, developing patience, dealing with bullies, showing good manners, understanding why people pray and more. Each story is followed by parenting tips targeted to specific social and ethical skills—tips that explain to parents at what age children can understand different moral concepts, how to talk to their children about these issues, and examples of how parents can help their children develop values and ethics. A 3-minute online video illustrates through pictures and quotations the rewards of parenting, and is ideal to be used in a school setting with parents. All the materials on MyYoungChild. org can be downloaded and used freely with children, parents and educators.

MyYoungChild. org is a non-profit site developed by the Early Parenting Foundation. It was begun by Wilbur S. Edwards, a recent retiree from a long career in the educational video production market, who felt strongly that certain values were lacking in our society. He enlisted Nancy Morgan, an educational consultant, and Holly Bell, a preschool teacher and illustrator, to create the online stories. “Our stories give parents and teachers the tools so they can discuss important values with children such as honesty, integrity, respect, and civility—values that are so needed in our society today. Now we’ve added a reading component—which is critical for children’s success,” says Edwards.

Expert Physician, Author Shines Light on Preventive Measures and Promotes Regular Detoxification and Ongoing Supplementation as Keys to Better Health

Expert Physician, Author Shines Light on Preventive Measures and Promotes Regular Detoxification and Ongoing Supplementation as Keys to Better Health

Leading physician and author of best-selling medical books partners with Detoxologie. com to heighten awareness of need for ongoing cleansing program as part of an overall preventative health plan.

Englewood, CO (PRWEB) May 10, 2007

Hyla Cass M. D., an expert in integrative medicine who has authored several books, including Natural Highs and 8 Weeks to Vibrant Health, has partnered with Detoxologie. com to draw attention to the positive benefits of preventive health care, including internal cleansing.

"As a practicing physician, experience has taught me that prevention is the best method for health maintenance," Dr. Cass explains. "Since the digestive system is the first entryway for many toxins and pathogens (such as bacteria and parasites), regular detoxification is a requirement for optimal health. I have found Detoxologie™ to be one of the most comprehensive and effective colon cleansing programs available."

Dr. Cass, a nationally acclaimed innovator and expert in the field of integrative medicine, combines the best of leading-edge natural medicine with modern science in her clinical practice, writings, lectures and nationwide media appearances, most recently on ABC's top-rated daytime show The View.

As Dr. Cass stresses, detoxification is a normal, natural, and necessary part of daily well-being and health maintenance. Because of this, detoxification should be done on a consistent basis, and supported by ongoing efforts through diet and supplementation, using such products as Detoxologie's™ high-potency 30-Day Body-Cleansing and Renewal Program.

A member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Health Sciences Institute and Taste for Life magazine, and an Associate Editor at Total Health Magazine, Dr. Cass supports detoxification because once the body is cleansed and functioning more efficiently, it will absorb more nutrients from foods, allowing users to finally side-step destructive cravings for "bad" carbohydrates and saturated fats.

"It's a win-win situation," explains Detoxologie™ owner Steve Franzmann, who has suffered four strokes, the first at the age of 35. After years of extensive evaluation, Steve's medical condition was diagnosed as Lupus Anti-Coagulation Syndrome, a genetic blood disorder. During this time, rather than take multiple prescription medications that only seemed to make matters worse, Steve and wife Kelley teamed up with master herbalist Bob Nikkel in search of a natural alternative. The remarkable improvement in Steve's health led to the creation of the Detoxologie™ product line, which safely and quickly eliminates toxins from not only the digestive tract, but the organs and very cells themselves, providing Steve and other users alike with a more solid foundation on which to build better health.

In repairing Steve's health and helping others do the same, the Franzmann's have consulted with some of the nation's foremost experts on integrative medicine and naturopathic treatments. Their research and findings on the importance of internal cleansing and detoxification has led to ongoing improvements in Steve's personal health. This remains the driving force behind their commitment to providing education and a product line that will help others find health as well, an unwavering commitment they share with Dr. Cass.

Credit Repair Kit For Dummies, 2nd Edition, Provides Answers for Surviving the Credit Crunch, Mortgage Crisis, and Unemployment

Credit Repair Kit For Dummies, 2nd Edition, Provides Answers for Surviving the Credit Crunch, Mortgage Crisis, and Unemployment

Latest edition features clear-cut directions on paying down debt, avoiding foreclosure and repossession, and getting your personal finances back in order.

Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) August 6, 2008 - The rise in sub-

Prime foreclosures, credit card debt, and concern over tightening credit has left many consumers worried about their credit rating. For those looking for concise, straightforward guidance, the second edition of Credit Repair Kit For Dummies (http://www. dummies. com/WileyCDA/DummiesTitle/Credit-Repair-Kit-For-Dummies-2nd-Edition. productCd-0470276738.html)® (Wiley; 978-0-470-27673-0; August 2008), by Bankrate. com's Debt Adviser columnist Steve Bucci, gives readers the proper tools to navigate today's unforgiving credit environment. It features clear-cut directions on paying down debt, avoiding foreclosure and repossession, and getting your personal finances back in order. The book also explains how bad credit can keep you from a good job.

"Millions of Americans are facing harsh financial, employment and credit related challenges," says Bucci. "The second edition of my book has been updated just in time to provide a no-nonsense guide to help you through the credit crunch, mortgage meltdown and personal budget crisis we are facing in the United States in 2008."

Here are some of the issues and solutions addressed in the book:

Foreclosure - Saving a home from foreclosure requires quick and effective action. Bucci tell homeowners how to take effective action as soon as possible, communicate with lenders, and get help from experts. There are solutions available, but it is essential to know what to ask for.

Credit Crunch - Good credit has never been more important. Bad credit won't just cost you more in payments; it can deny you credit entirely, keep you from getting a job, a promotion, insurance, a decent apartment, and more. Twenty-five percent of all credit reports have errors. Credit Repair Kit For Dummies, 2nd Edition, will help you understand what is in your credit report, how your score is figured, and how to fix errors and polish your credit.

Bankruptcy - Since the 2005 bankruptcy law came onto the scene, it has been harder to get relief from creditors. Understanding the process is the first step to getting help. The book lays out the process in easy-to-understand terms and helps you decide if bankruptcy is right for you.

Counseling Choices - Getting the help you need can be confusing and daunting; picking the right agency that will help, not hurt, is very important. Bucci details what to look for and questions to ask, and outlines how to find non-profit status, third party accreditation, low/no fees and credit, foreclosure prevention, bankruptcy and reverse mortgage counselors.

In typical For Dummies® (http://www. dummies. com/WileyCDA/) fashion, the book concludes with "The Part of Tens," including ten tips for avoiding identity theft or reducing its damage, ten ways to avoid foreclosure, and ten ways to maximize your credit. A helpful "Cheat Sheet" in the front of the book features information on the big three credit bureaus, tips on how to handle an overdue mortgage, and questions to ask a credit counselor. A bonus CD includes a bonus chapter on handling financial emergencies, sample credit reports, letters to creditors, banking institutions, credit bureau agencies, budgets, and identity theft letters.

DP Releases New Book About New Language -- and It's Free

DP Releases New Book About New Language -- and It's Free

A new language has been created in dedication to American slaves who first arrived in 1619. Now Dramatic Pause Publishing is offering a book for free that explains it's influences.

Tustin, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2006

Dramatic Pause Publishing is giving away their newest release, Hodaoa-Anibo: Free Book. Free Book discusses the Hodaoa-Anibo language - for free and is available upon request, shipping within 5 to 10 days with requestor paid shipping and handling.

Hodaoa-Anibo: Free Book is edited by the creator of Hodaoa-Anibo, Kobina Wright, and was written to address unanswered questions and comments that many people have had about this new gift to African American culture. Dramatic Pause Publishing, through this book, is attempting to give people a better understanding of the language and the intent of its creation.

The language of Hodaoa-Anibo was created in tribute to the African slaves that came to the New World starting in 1619, whose posterity has since lost their native language, culture, and specific origin. Free Book addresses several topics for its readers to digest, including: a brief history of American slavery; the Gullah language; the differences between the Hodaoa-Anibo language and African American Vernacular English; the background of Swahili; an introduction to the language by Dr. Nikitah Okembe – RA Imani, of James Madison University and an explanation of the language by Wright herself.

The staff at Dramatic Pause Publishing has decided to release Free Book because of the limited amount of information available about the language. “We wanted to give people the opportunity to learn about its existence, encourage education and the sharing of this information” says Wright. The only requirement of its requestors is that they pay for the U. S. shipping and handling which is priced at a nominal fee of $2.

Hodaoa-Anibo: Free Book is available on Amazon. com and can also be requested directly from Dramatic Pause Publishing by sending a check or money order for $2, payable to K. Wright and sent to: Dramatic Pause Publishing, P. O. Box 1894 Tustin, CA 92781.

Really Free Credit Score Launches Consumer Centric Blog - Ways To Improve Your Credit Score

Really Free Credit Score Launches Consumer Centric Blog - Ways To Improve Your Credit Score

Really Free Credit Score (www. reallyfreecreditscore. com) launches an information packed free blog site to help consumers improve their credit score.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 18, 2010

Really Free Credit Score (www. reallyfreecreditscore. com), the totally free credit score hub, announced today the launch of their consumer focused blog, a website aimed to empower the general public by providing vast information on credit scores, credit reports, and how to improve your credit score.

"Consumers often are not fully educated about credit scores and credit reports until it's too late -- when filling out an application for a mortgage or car loan," said Benjamin Bird, CEO at Really Free Credit Score. "The background on credit scores and improving your credit history is often not taught in educational settings. Especially in the lower-income brackets, many are unfortunately uneducated about their personal credit and how it can affect so many of their opportunities in the future. But not because they choose to be ignorant, but because the information is hard to obtain."

Credit history is something that is built over time and can stay on your record for many years. Late payments or missing payments can affect your score for 7 years, while bankruptcies will negatively affect your chances of getting approved for loans or credit cards for 10 years. With a higher credit score, an average person can save an upwards of 7 figures over the course of their lifetime on interest rates alone.

In addition to the ReallyFreeCreditScore. com information portal, consumers can:

-Receive a free credit score from each of the major credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Their motto is: "Yes, it's Really Free."

-Increase their knowledge surrounding the process in credit scoring and how it can change their lives

-Post interactive comments or questions to be discussed by the community

ReallyFreeCreditScore. com launched in 2010 to reach customers looking to get a totally free credit score. Now approaching their sophomore year, Really Free Credit Score plans on doubling their size in the next 24 months.

"We believe that anything which affects an individuals' potential for personal wealth, such as their credit score and credit report, should be offered as a free service and there should be an educational standard surrounding it," said Bird. "What used to be a paid service should be free. Moving the free line is what we intend to do."

About ReallyFreeCreditScore. com

Based in Los Angeles, California, ReallyFreeCreditScore. com is a customer-oriented credit score company devoted to helping empower consumers to improve their credit health by allowing them to leverage their credit score as often as they would like to in an effort to better their credit rating. At www. reallyfreecreditscore. com, visitors can also learn about what actions can be taken to maintain a high credit score, actions needed to revive a poor credit score, and also to identify problems or issues within their credit reporting.

IndependentsÂ’ Day!

Tampa, Florida: Things have been hopping for the staff at the independents' company Rebuking Ockham’s Razor, Inc. TailTellers. com opened in April and they began hunting for talented people to fill what they see as a definite need for unique writing and self-expression. They were not disappointed in the quality of creators we have begun to gather, but the lack of quantity of quality (say THAT ten times fast) did give them pause, states CEO Shannon Reinbold-Gee. "We know there are more gifted creators out there…but we’re not sure where they’ve hidden (though there’s tons of slush to hide within, evidently). We are continuing to slog through the slush in order to sift out the hidden beauty some creators have, but it has become a daunting prospect (of course, we never thought life would be easy—we do remember middle school with frightening clarity)," Gee grins.

"Through the mud and muck of half-baked story ideas and poetry with no soul we did locate some lovely pieces we are proud to share with a literate public," Gee stresses. "As people should have learned by now, we are not your standard creating company. We like things that make the reader think. For us, double-meanings are a thing of beauty, subtext is ambrosia, and irony a turn on."

So, if you feel your pulse quicken at the mention of "foreshadowing" and "metaphors"—Read on, brave adventurer!

New Novella:

What Rough Peace ©

By Josh Davis

Josh Davis is a very talented young author with a truly unique voice that comes cleanly through in his writing. "There are moments as an editor," Gee points out, "that you go sifting through the virtual slush pile just praying that either people will get a Word-A-Day Calendar for their next birthday or that their fingers will somehow short out every keyboard they come in contact with from then on. And then, thereÂ’s someone like Josh."

"Josh is well-read and well-written. He impressed us immediately with his style, and whereas we had been dreading reading more of some pieces that were submitted, Josh’s What Rough Peace © pushed us to read on… just to see what would happen next." CEO Reinbold-Gee was pleased to read through this particular tale herself. "It reassured me that literacy is not completely lost on the youth of America."

Josh writes to voice life experience in a new and original fashion. When ROR asked him about what actually inspires him to write, he said, "A lot of itÂ’s due to that fact that I donÂ’t see the same ideas and ingenuity and enthusiasm represented in modern literature as there has been in the past. Every generation in the last century seemed to have a voice in literature. Like the "lost" generation and the "beat" generation. People like Ernest Hemingway, Scot Fitzgerald, and Jack Kerouac really seemed to have a cultural impact in writing what they saw. I donÂ’t think the John Grishams and the Tom Clancys are doing that now."

Largely influenced by the works of James Joyce, who writes in "the way thoughts sound in your own head," as Josh puts it, Josh keeps in mind that "When your mind is racing, when something dramatic occurs, we tend not to think in complete sentences." His desire to reflect the thoughts that tumble through our heads is certainly not lost on readers. Seeking to capture "The real rhythm of life," Josh yanks the reader into his setting, allowing you to feel the true essence of his tale. The story, What Rough Peace ©, is set in and out of the Baltimore-DC areas and Josh writes like he knows the city streets intimately.

As he controls all aspects of his story through his youthful and visionary portrayal of the grittiness of life and society, so he also likes a controlled environment in which to write. "There are two ways to write. Sometimes I'll write on the fly, as something is happening, so I capture an essence or a reality. But ultimately, you have to type something up and edit, and I think the work will suffer greatly if you donÂ’t have a real controlled environment. I usually write by low light, listening to music thatÂ’s up to the tone of the writing, something thatÂ’s got elements of melody and elements of experimentation."

Josh is currently working on several new books, one dealing with death, one about Europe (which from this the CEO's standpoint could easily be combined into a single tome and acknowledged as her most recent trip abroad), and one, which promises to be along the lines of What Rough Peace ©. Josh says of the similarities, "It incorporates a lot of the college experience, but from a sort of alien perspective. And there’s always a girl. Somehow I'm still a real sucker for a love story. I think the ranges of emotions experienced in any relationship are equal to the whole of a life. There’s always a birth, a living, a struggle, and a death. And I think that’s something that everyone can relate to."

Gee feels certain readers will certainly relate on one level or another to Josh’s current What Rough Peace © and Gee says eagerly "I look forward to reading more myself. Josh will either make you love language, or hate people with larger vocabularies than your own."

New Poetry:

Vengeance of the Desert Rose ©

By Morgan David Reinbold

"HeÂ’s been writing and inspiring others to write for years. As time has passed his style and his subjects may have shifted, but at the heart of everything he writes there is an undeniable sense that this man understands life in all its "big picture" ways," Gee says of David Reinbold. He has penned many poems into many volumes, even binding the books himself. He is truly a Renaissance man, and anyone who knows him will laugh at the included double-meaning.

His Vengeance of the Desert Rose © is an epic poem about a woman and her search for justice, making herself a tool for it, no matter how it is to be meted out. Set in an eastern desert, it is the story of a young woman who knows tragedy and seeks to avenge the murders of her father and his fellow tribesmen. But Desert Rose isn’t the only piece Morgan David will have posted on www. TailTellers. com. He also will have some great short poems including: Maiden Waiting in the Wings©, Dead Men’s Eyes©, Mermaids©, The "Crow"© , Farewell to an Island Girl©, Old Warrior©, and Dragon’s Blood©. Most will realize from the titles that the author tends towards fantasy works.

Morgan David Reinbold grew up in Shillington, Pennsylvania and graduated Albright College with a BA, before going on to Penn State where he earned his Masters in Education. He has been teaching history to high schoolers for most of his 36 years in the field, as well as coaching shooting for 42 years.

He has always been involved in creative endeavors, playing in the Militia at reinactments (oh, the stories he can tell!), blacksmithing, photography, silversmithing, and scuba diving. Currently his projects include: cultivating an herb garden and eventually an oriental garden in his back yard, and continuing to work on Volume 5 of his poetry collection.

Hell Has No Fury ©

By Pam Tyler

Pam Tyler will have some passionately written poems posted at www. TailTellers. com, including : Hell Has No Fury ©, Empowering Me ©, Sister of Your Soul ©, My Blues ©, Incarceration © and I Love...© . While pushing to obtain her degree from MWSC and being a mother, a warrior, and queen (as well as raising one of her own), Pam lets her admiration of Maya Angelou guide her poignant writing. She is quick to remind writers to "Just do what you love, whatever it is. Someone somewhere will enjoy it as well, and even if they don't you'll still be doing what you love."

"Pam is a woman who writes what she feels, and feels things deeply," Gee states. "Just a good person who writes from the heart. If you step into our site to read her work, you are certain to catch a glimpse of an incredible soul, and feel her driving passion and power. You will easily know her strength through her words," proclaims ROR's CEO.

Frosts ©

By Morgan Dirk Reinbold

Okay, so he stands six feet tall and is a legend (at least in ROR's mind, and possibly his own). His talent is only now being tested, as deadlines are his greatest nemesis. Heck, heÂ’s one of the reasons CEO Shannon Reinbold-Gee got into this business. Who the heck is he? Some days everyone on staff wonders. His name, though, is Morgan Dirk Reinbold.

He’s been in love with art and writing since he was just a youngster (God knows Shannon tried to stop him—ask him some day about his capabilities of drawing rocks), so it was only natural that he’d fall for comics eventually.

The duo both began shelling out their hardly earned allowance on comics like Transformers and ElfQuest early on, but while Shannon fell in line with novels he continued to build a nice collection of various comics, even delving in to the independents when Shannon was just starting to read GaimanÂ’s "Sandman." Together they stood in line in a tiny shop in Reading, Pa. to meet members of what was then Wild StormÂ…pleased to get a sketch from the youngster Todd Nauk.

Dirk jokingly says his favorite quote, currently "Sic semper tyrranous"— deals with editors. His goals and ambitions? "Get out of current job, breathe in and out all day, yeah, grad school, doctorate in psychology—blah, blah, blah." Although what he'll have to offer on www. TailTellers. com shortly are poems: The Madman ©, Sirens and Silence ©, Causation I ©, and a piece as yet Untitled and short stories (Frosts ©), he is currently readying a mini comic entitled "Phone Pole Lonesome" © for official publication and the Handbasket Chronicles’ "A Fool’s Game" ©.

New Short Fiction:

Mark836 ©

By Gregory Kurcynski

Greg Kurcynski met the company at MegaCon in Orlando this past March. "After chatting at our booth, and sharing the bizarre experience of watching comic authors and artists sing karaoke after a drink or two in order to raise money for the CBLDF, he probably figured that submitting work to ROR would be almost as interesting, but not quite as risky," Gee smiles.

He has "always been an avid fan of horror and science fiction - films, books, comics, television, etc., and [has] always felt a strong need for a creative outlet." His first piece on www. TailTellers. com reflects what he loves.

Mark836 © is a frightening short story that will have you looking differently at your computer after you’re done reading. Greg has only recently begun to hone his talent. "About a year ago I took a more serious, disciplined approach to writing after I realized through meeting and reading interviews with different creators whose work I admired that the main difference between me as a fan and them as creators was that they took the initiative to practice and improve their craft. I decided to go beyond writing as a hobby and take advantage of any opportunity to improve my writing skills in the hope that my work could be noticed and appreciated. And, of course, published," Kurcynski grins.

Where does he get ideas like the one that started him on the trail to Mark836’s © completion? "My notebook is filled with strange little items that usually get buried on page four. Not all of these end up being useful, but they do help when I'm drawing a blank for ideas. My short story Mark836 © came about from a news story about a guy who actually auctioned his soul on eBay a couple years ago. If I remember correctly, he got seven bucks for it."

Well, ROR may have GregÂ’s story on loan at www. TailTellers. com, but so far theyÂ’ve been unable to acquire his soul. But, remembering that most creators reflect their innermost being in their workÂ…perhaps theyÂ’re close enough.

GregÂ’s already planning for the future, and ROR certainly hope heÂ’ll explore more of it with them. "As I continue to improve and learn I want to proceed to novel length works. I'd also like the opportunity to work with a filmmaker or artist and see if my ideas would make successful transitions to film or comics."

The Penitent Lucifer ©

And

The Moon’s Fall ©

By Shannon Reinbold-Gee

"Examine life from all angles. That’s the only way you’re sure to spot the beauty amidst the chaos and destruction." Shannon Reinbold-Gee has been writing and drawing since she was young, trying to find a balance between her two loves. The closest she has come to achieving that balance is through her comic series War Dogs and Glory Hounds ©. "Series?" she chuckles, red-faced. "Well, that IS the intent, but a series should come out at regular intervals, and more often than annually."

It has been a difficult first year for her work and her company. "It’s always brutal in the beginning. Think back to the stress of your first date—that’s how the first couple years of business are, in my opinion. But everything that’s worth having is worth the struggle and grind."

Things started for the group just prior to the Expo (www. spxpo. com) in Bethesda last year. "We were like crazy people trying to slam things together in preparation. And we made a strong first showing, and were pleased with all the compliments we got. But then life intruded again on art and a lot had to be put on the back burner." Shannon doubles as a history and drama teacher at a middle school in Florida. "I don’t even want to talk about this year as far as teaching goes. Talk about becoming dramatically disillusioned with something you loved and always thought you would love! Don’t get me wrong, I still love teaching, but the system we’re forced to work within is only perpetuating defeat." So why is she smiling? "Because I got to use a word with more than two syllables. Teach teenagers—you’ll see what can happen to your vocabulary."

MegaCon (www. megaconvention. com) was the second convention the company showed up at, but their numbers were lower than they had hoped. "That happens when your company’s heart and soul resides north of the Mason-Dixon, but part of the body lives in Tampa. And yes, absence DOES make the heart grow fonder. We learned a lot at MegaCon, like ‘Ask every question you can think of,’ then ask them all again, to another person. But we got to meet some wonderful people, too. People with visible talent. Some took to us, some got scared, and some were just way too arrogant to exist on this plane. If some artists’ egos took up physical space—Well the hole in the ozone layer would be by far the least of our worries." Gotta’ love those prima donnas.

"But I should plug my stories—The Penitent Lucifer ©, and The Moon’s Fall ©. The story Penitent Lucifer © is from a series yet to be officially born in comic format. It’s a break-off of what will officially be known as the Miracles and Madness © series. A story that will encourage you to re-evaluate your belief in things unseen.

"The Moon’s Fall © is completely different, more of a myth with a lesson about the danger of arrogance." Arrogance, prima donnas— seems like there’s a common thread. "Pride goeth before the fall."

So will we see any War Dogs and Glory Hounds © online comic issues on www. TailTellers. com? "Yes, yes. I love War Dogs more than most of the pieces I’ve done, but it’s rough prioritizing business needs versus the needs of my own art. Soon, though. Very soon."

New Art Offerings:

By Stan Morrison

Stan is definitely the man when it comes to fantasy-inspired artwork. If you like dragons, you can now stop by and download some of the lovely wallpaper he has posted as freebies for visitors. Want something more tangible? Soon you'll be able to check out his very reasonable prices for prints of his art. Stan is one of the most mobile of the TailTellers' creators, so to check out what show his art (and perhaps Stan himself ) will be at, Gee invites you to stop by the site and take a peek under the Art section.

By Shannon Reinbold-Gee

Shannon’s got some more wallpaper for visitors—some scherenschnitte, some comic-based, and a handful of photos. She also intends to make available L3s © (Life-Lessons-Learned) in wallpaper that you can send someone anonymously when they need a "thwap" over the nose by the "great rolled-up cosmic newspaper," as she likes to put it.

Still Beating the Bushes:

ROR, Inc. is still looking for talented artists and authors to fill out their ranks on the www. tailtellers. com site. "With flexible contracts and a helpful staff, we have every intention of continuing to grow and expand our youthful venture. If you are a gifted creator, feel free to contact ROR, Inc. at staff@tailtellers. com," Gee invites. So go ahead, check out the Submissions and Contracts pages and then send them your best work.

“We are experiencing record double-digit growth in 2010, no small feat given the current economic environment,” said Jonathan N. Antevy, e-Builder co-founder and CEO. “The ability of our software to reduce project costs without impacting scope or schedule and our rapid deployment approach to software delivery is what is driving our growth and success.”

This year the company celebrated its 15-year Anniversary, entered into a strategic partnership with MedAssets, and just last month announced the University of Chicago as a new client.

Some of the criteria used in determining the list include having a strong product/service aimed at the construction industry, ongoing customer satisfaction and growth, as well as outreach and educational efforts for the construction industry, among other considerations. The Constructech 50 continues to function as a snapshot of the current construction climate. The construction industry is still an ever-changing marketplace, but the use of innovative technology continues with a solid presence.

“Choosing the top 50 solution providers in the construction space was no small feat,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Constructech magazine. “After much debate and discussion, we believe these 50 companies are bringing consistent and important solutions to those in the construction industry. Parco's Largest Civilian UWB RFID Installation Completed

Parco's Largest Civilian UWB RFID Installation Completed

Multi-million Square-Foot Campus Has Total Location Coverage. The achievement of this milestone proves to the healthcare and RFID industries that Parco is the demonstrable leader of commercialization within this market space.

Washington, D. C. (PRWEB) January 31, 2007

Parco Merged Media Corporation is pleased to announce that it has completed the largest civilian ultra-wideband (UWB) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) enabled location tracking system installation in the world at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. The system covers 2.5 million square feet at this 926-bed facility.

The announcement was made by Parco's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Scott Cohen.

The goals of the project are to address the daily tracking and location needs of a major tertiary medical center, to enhance the hospital's emergency response capabilities, and to explore innovative analysis and application of the information collected.

The project at Washington Hospital Center is being implemented under the leadership of Dr. Mark Smith. Dr. Smith is chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center, and director of the ER One Institute at Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Health, and chairman and professor of Emergency Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine

According to Dr. Smith, Washington Hospital Center has embraced the real time location technologies provided by Parco Wireless in order to meet the stringent requirements for accurate location reporting of assets and patients. "Over the past few years we have evaluated many location systems designed for indoor use," said Dr. Smith. "For our mission critical environment, we found the reliability of Parco's hardware and software to be the only solution capable of meeting our requirements for accuracy, reliability, and scalability." Parco has installed its patient and asset tracking systems throughout the entire hospital. When fully operational, the system will provide sub-room accuracy and real time reporting across the 926-bed facility.

According to Dr. Smith, "Washington Hospital Center, by virtue of its location in the District of Columbia, its size (one of the 25 largest hospitals in the nation), and its specialized capabilities (busiest emergency department, largest trauma center, regional burn center, five helicopter medevac program), has a special responsibility as a core medical care resource for a terrorist attack or other mass casualty incident."

"By installing Parco location tracking throughout the hospital," Dr. Smith said, "we have deployed an innovative technology that will support the broad scalability of operations needed during a mass casualty incident or disaster. If we can track patients, key equipment, and key staff throughout the whole hospital, we will be able to increase the number of patients we can care for several times over."

Washington Hospital Center has first-hand experience in managing mass casualty and bio-terror events. The Hospital Center cared for critically injured casualties during the September 11 attack on the Pentagon and treated hundreds of patients during the subsequent anthrax exposures in October.

Over the past year, technicians installed standard structured networking cables at the hospital, which spans several eight-story buildings over its 18-acre campus to accommodate the several hundred RFID readers needed to track critical mobile medical equipment and patients. Once the system is fully operational by spring 2007, nurses, doctors, and support staff at the hospital will be able to locate - within two feet - the critical mobile medical equipment needed in the provision of everyday care as well as during mass casualty incident The data generated by the Parco locations tracking system is visible in Microsoft Azyxxi, the clinical information system developed and deployed at Washington Hospital Center.

"We are very excited by the opportunity that Washington Hospital Center has provided Parco over the previous 5 years and culminating in this campus-wide project," said Scott Cohen, CEO of Parco Wireless. "Recent advances in Parco's Real Time Location System (RTLS) technologies, including RFID radio frequency such as ultra-wideband, and software management tools now make indoor positioning systems worthwhile for all hospitals. We have created a system that is simply not available from other technology providers. The resultant capabilities of Parco Wireless RTLS technology are a solution suitable for everyday use as well as for expanded use in disaster settings. This is a model which other hospitals are now adopting. The achievement of this milestone proves to the healthcare and RFID industries that Parco is the demonstrable leader of commercialization within this market space."

Technical Information about the Parco UWB Tracking Solution

The system uses a structured category 5e cabling system. Various communication closets located throughout the campus use Cisco local area network layer 2 Ethernet switches to transmit data to a server room. The communication closets feature triple redundancy and include fiber optic connectivity. Power management solutions are supplied by Dataprobe.

Servers run the Microsoft Server 2003 operating system and Microsoft SQL Server. Four servers are required to support the current tag load. Other Microsoft software used for the project includes: PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, .NET, Visual Basic. NET, Remote Desktop, VPN and Azyxxi.

Parco software used for the project includes the Parco Parser, Parco Manager, RTLS/GIS Database, RTLS DataService, RTLS WebService, RTLS WindowsService and the Parco SDK. Various software tools were invented to support this installation including the Buildout Tool, RFID Tag Metrics, and the Zone Builder Tool. Parco's software provides middleware and application programmer interfaces for rapid development and deployment.

Installation for the equipment was performed by New England Networking, an authorized Parco project management firms, and with sub-contracted labor from TalentTree. Installation and programming of the system was conducted using laptop wireless connected to Parco's software from the hospital's Aruba WiFi network.

The system will initially locate, track and manage 2,500 tags. The campus is 18 square acres per level and includes several buildings that span 8 stories (2 sub levels plus 6 floors) or approximately 142 acres. The building coverage foot print is approximately 2.4 million square feet or 57 acres. The system provides full campus coverage indoors plus outdoor coverage in a courtyard and an outdoor staging area for mass casualties. System specifications vary for tracking granularity in terms of spatial resolution; approximately 85% of the campus provides real time location information to sub-room accuracy. The remainder of the campus provides either proximity or hall level tracking. The entire campus is capable of tracking and locating each tag typically once per second per tag.

About Parco Wireless

Parco is the healthcare industry leader in providing the most reliable, scalable and accurate RFID-enabled resource and patient workflow management tools available to hospitals today. Parco's state-of-the art indoor positioning systems incorporate an advanced form of non-interfering radio frequency technology as well as advanced software management tools that consistently report sub-foot accuracy for thousands of patients and hospital equipment. Parco's systems are designed to work with most legacy systems for easy software integration, electromagnetic and radio frequency compatibility. The Parco systems optimize asset utilization in everyday use as well as emergency situations, increase patient flow, reduce wait times, reduce operating costs and improve overall patient care quality.

Retired Public Works Director Turns Author

Retired Public Works Director Turns Author

“If you ever see her in a fight with a bear, get ready to help the bear,” is how some see MICAH ANN CAMERON, newly retired Public Works Director of a Cincinnati suburb. Others in this small town see MAC as a petite, feisty, modern-day combination of John Wayne and Mary Poppins. Happy with her carefree retirement life, she hurries to a convenience store before it closes and is attacked by a fleeing assailant dressed in white from head to foot. Staggering into the store, she finds the almost decapitated clerk lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Two other stores, in neighboring cities, were also robbed, and the clerks murdered, in a similar manner. Mac is the only live witness, and becomes the target of the perpetrator. MAC’s steel-like will has carried her over many of life’s hurdles, but is sorely tested as she becomes the main player in finding and stopping the culprit before it strikes again.

(PRWEB) November 9, 2003

She has been an IBM operator, a columnist, a city editor, the CEO of her own company, a recreation director, a public works director, and president of the Princeton Board of Education.

Today, recently retired City of Sharonville Public Works Director Audrey Privett can add author to her list of careers.

PrivettÂ’s first novel, “ABSOLUTE FURY,” was released nationwide November 2.

Â“IÂ’ve been writing for a long time,” said Privett, referring to her weekly editorial column, “AudreyÂ’s Analysis,” in the Suburban Press. She published SharonvilleÂ’s annual booklet of services and developed and maintained its web site. She has had articles published in The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Cincinnati Bar AssociationÂ’s monthly magazine, and sheÂ’s a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.

“You can use so many of life’s experiences and fashion a story around them,” says Privett.

Â“ABSOLUTE FURY,” a thriller, introduces Micah Ann Cameron. Mac is a petite, feisty, modern-day combination of John Wayne and Mary Poppins. “If you ever see her in a fight with a bear, you better get ready to help the bear,” is how some see Mac, the newly retired Public Works Director of Valleydale, a Cincinnati suburb. Mac sees herself as sweet and loveable.

Happy with her carefree retirement life, she hurries to a convenience store before it closes and is attacked by a fleeing assailant. Staggering into the store, she finds the almost decapitated clerk lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Two other stores in neighboring cities were also robbed, and the clerks murdered, in a similar manner. Mac is the only live witness, and becomes the target of the perpetrator. MacÂ’s steel-like will has carried her over many of lifeÂ’s hurdles, but is sorely tested as she becomes the main player in finding and stopping the killer before it strikes again.

Â“ABSOLUTE FURY” is published by PublishAmerica, and is available at www. publishamerica. com, at bookstores nationwide and on the Internet at www. amazon. com.

Â“Retirement has offered me a new beginning, very busy and very rewarding. I guess IÂ’ll have to postpone the ‘golden yearsÂ’ for a while longer. I donÂ’t mind a bit. I like the challenge.”

She and husband Boyce spend a good deal of time commuting from their home in Cincinnati to their home in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, where her next novel, “Blazing Fury,” is taking shape.

Rebel Yell Captured - Fiendish Effect Discounted

Rebel Yell Captured - Fiendish Effect Discounted

Civil War mystery may be solved by modern technology.

(PRWEB) June 28, 2005

One of the mysteries of American Civil War lore may have finally been solved.

The famous rebel yell, long known to have an unnerving effect on Union soldiers in the American Civil War, has just been examined by the History Publishing Company. Using as its core base, the only known yell by a living Confederate soldier recorded early in the Twentieth Century, History Publishing Company, through the use of sound technology, has emulated the sound of a company of soldiers charging a Union line.

“The effect was startling, “said Don Bracken, Senior Editor of History Publishing and Civil War author( Times of the Civil War, ISBN 1-4208-0694-7). “It wasn’t a frightening sound in the nightmarish or fiendish sense. It was an audible sensation of being overwhelmed. It was like having a sonic tidal wave approach you. What might have unnerved the Union soldiers who reportedly fled from it was a sense of helplessness.”

The rebel yell has long been a source of curiosity to students of the Civil War. It was a recognized fact that seasoned Union veterans would become unnerved by it. “When we came across the recorded yell made in the early Twentieth Century, of an actual Confederate veteran of the Army of Northern Virginia, we knew we had to take it a step further,” said Don Bracken.”Technology has made it possible to do that.”

History Publishing Company, a company dedicated to furthering the study of history through modern technology will make the sound recording of the Confederate charge available to schools or Civil War study groups for educational purposes.
