Mobitex Technology AB Opens Representative Office in Beijing, China
Mobitex Technology AB today announced the opening of a new Representative Office in Beijing, which will be responsible for selling and supporting the Mobitex technology throughout East Asia. The office will also produce a new line of Mobitex products particularly tailored to meet the needs of the electric power market in China

For two years, Mobitex Technology has been working closely with the North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), the key education establishment for the electric power industry, to develop Mobitex products for the power market. The products developed will enhance regional power distribution providing wireless and secure grid monitoring and control. Furthermore, Mobitex Technology is modifying the Mobitex infrastructure by transferring its operating system onto Chinese-built hardware in order to meet particular frequency requirements by the authorities.
"China is an increasingly important market for Mobitex Technology. Not only does it have the world's fastest growing economy, but with the new line of products and our close cooperation with NCEPU we are very well positioned in the electric power industry which is the single largest industry in China," says Andrew Fitton, President of Mobitex Technology AB.
The new office is headed by Adam Chen, who has operated at a senior level within the networking and telecoms sectors for several multinational organisations in China over the course of the last ten years. "Mobitex Technology can now more efficiently penetrate the Chinese market and the majority of the new product line will be locally manufactured, which leads to cost efficient production and shortened time to market," Mr. Chen adds.
The new office will enable Mobitex Technology to provide local support and services to the growing customer base particularly within the Far East Asia region and strengthen Mobitex's position as the selected technology for machine-to-machine communications in mission critical operations.
