Wine Enthusiast Helps Online Shoppers Discover Great New Wine Accessories with CleverSet

Wine Enthusiast Helps Online Shoppers Discover Great New Wine Accessories with CleverSet

Avid wine lovers now receive highly personalized recommendations uniquely tailored to their individual preferences and taste in order to quickly guide them to the right product

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 23, 2007

CleverSet, the leading provider of personalization services for eCommerce companies, today announced that Wine Enthusiast is using CleverSet to provide their customers with truly personalized shopping experiences. CleverSet's Recommendations service will help wine lovers quickly and easily discover enticing new wine accessories on the Wineenthusiast. com site. With CleverSet, Wine Enthusiast (http://www. wineenthusiast. com/) can now accurately predict what individual shoppers are interested in buying, and offer them truly personalized recommendations. Wine Enthusiast has seen revenue-per-visitor lift of 23% since deploying CleverSet's personalization service (http://www. cleverset. com/solution/howitworks. html) just over two months ago.

Wine Enthusiast is the world's leading source for wine accessories, storage, information, education and events, serving amateurs and connoisseurs through retail stores, direct mail and internet sites including www. winenthusiast. com.

"CleverSet enables us to truly personalize product recommendations to each and every individual and, at the same time, expose our customers to a wider range of wine accessories they may not have found on their own," said Glenn Edelman, senior director of online marketing and merchandising for Wine Enthusiast. "We are always looking out for intelligent ways to present our extensive selection of wine accessories to our online customers, and CleverSet is at the leading edge. We selected Cleverset for its highly advanced technology, easy implementation, and most importantly, the technology's ability to produce a visible lift in revenue in a matter of days."

Unlike most merchandise recommendation and personalization solutions that require extensive implementation, Wine Enthusiast rolled out CleverSet in a few hours and began seeing significant conversion improvements within days. Revenue-per-visitor increased 23% almost overnight. With CleverSet, Wine Enthusiast customers receive relevant recommendations throughout their shopping session, from first click, to navigation through product pages, through to final purchase. Wine Enthusiast is also using CleverSet to power recommendations on its search results page when no search results are returned, providing a better customer experience.

Only CleverSet uses Statistical Relational Learning (http://www. cleverset. com/solution), a next-generation technology, to analyze and understand the relationships between millions of data sources - including clickstream data, stored customer information, product catalog details and purchase history - to generate real-time, individualized recommendations throughout the shopping session. This powerful analytic service incorporates more data than any other industry solution, resulting in greater relevance. These real-time recommendations reflect an individual shopper's current interests at each moment of the shopping experience - not products they liked on a previous shopping trip or products that other people recently purchased.

CleverSet's advantage is that it continually "learns" from each shopper's current actions on a website. For example, with previous generation technologies, a customer looking for a wine rack would be presented with recommendations for other products, based on the collective past behavior of all shoppers ("people who bought this wine rack also bought these glasses"). Everyone who looks at that wine rack would get the same recommendation, relevant or not. However, with CleverSet, Wine Enthusiast is able to offer real-time recommendations based on that shopper's current behavior and shopping patterns. Each individual is offered a unique set of products that suits their taste in color, size, shape and brand, during that particular shopping session.

"CleverSet's clients enjoy larger revenue lifts and return on investment than with any other in-house or third-party recommendations solution available today," said Todd Humphrey (http://blog. cleverset. com), chief executive officer of CleverSet. "Companies of all sizes are embracing true personalization as the fastest path to increased sales and customer satisfaction, and our recommendations service is proven to take personalization, and sales, to a new level. We are excited to participate in Wine Enthusiasts' continued success."

International Scholar, Dr. Tariq Ramadan Calls for a Moratorium on Corporal Punishment, Stoning and the Death penalty in the Muslim World

International Scholar, Dr. Tariq Ramadan Calls for a Moratorium on Corporal Punishment, Stoning and the Death penalty in the Muslim World

Tariq Ramadan, a world-renowned Islamic scholar, today issued a call for an international moratorium in the Muslim world on the application of hudud laws, the penalties linked to the Islamic penal code. The call will appear today in many international newspapers in the Muslim World as well as in the West; more than thirty public websites will publish it and will welcome comments, support and critique. The objective of this call is to open a debate within the Muslim World regarding the application of hudud laws.

Geneva, (PRWEB) March 31, 2005

Tariq Ramadan, a world-renowned Islamic scholar, today issued a call for an international moratorium in the Muslim world on the application of hudud laws, the penalties linked to the Islamic penal code. The call will appear today in many international newspapers in the Muslim World as well as in the West; more than thirty public websites will publish it and will welcome comments, support and critique. The objective of this call is to open a debate within the Muslim World regarding the application of hudud laws.

“We are officially launching today an international call for an immediate moratorium on corporal punishment, stoning and the death penalty in all majority Muslim countries,” says Dr. Ramadan. “This call for a moratorium is being made considering that the opinions of most Islamic scholars is neither explicit nor unanimous (indeed even without a clear majority) as far as the comprehension of the texts and to the application of the hudud.”

Dr. Ramadan says, “The political systems and the state of the majority Muslim societies do not guarantee a just and equal treatment of individuals before the law; it is therefore our moral and religious responsibility to ask for the immediate cessation to the application of the hudud laws,” he added.

Dr. Ramadan is also calling on the body of Islamic religious authorities of the world, whatever their tradition (Sunnî or Shî'î), their school of thought (Hanâfî, Mâlikî, Ja'farî, etc.) or their tendencies (literalist, salafî, reformist, etc.) to engage in a dialogue on the issue of hudud laws.

“This undertaking requires, from within, rigor, time and establishing spaces of dialogue and debate, nationally and internationally, between the ulamâ' (Islamic Scholars), Muslim intellectuals and inside the Islamic communities, since it is not only about a relationship with the texts, but equally, to the context,” he adds “It is urgent that Muslims throughout the world refuse the formalist legitimization of the teachings of their religion and reconcile themselves with the depth of the message of Islam that invites towards spirituality, demands education, justice and the respect of pluralism.”

Dr. Tariq Ramadan was named by Time magazine as one of the world's top 100 influential thinkers. He has made a longstanding contribution to the debate on the issue of Muslims in the West, seeking to apply the principals and values of Islam to the realities of modern or postmodern life. Dr. Ramadan is active both at the academic and grassroots levels lecturing extensively throughout the world and promoting a dialogue between civilizations. His most recent book "Western Muslims and the Future of Islam" (Oxford University Press, 2003) was listed by the Christian Science Monitor as one of the best non-fiction books of 2004. He has authored and co-authored over 20 books and over 700 articles.

Dr. Ramadan concludes, “We need to set in motion a democratization movement that moves populations from the obsession of what the law is sanctioning to the claim of what it should protect: their conscience, their integrity, their liberty and their rights, ”adding “It is in the name of Islam’s message of justice that we call upon and remind Muslims that it is the responsibility of each âlim (scholar), of each conscience, every woman and man, wherever they may be to speak up.”

The zBoost zP repeats and amplifies a cell phone signal from outside the building to a consumer's phone and is ideal for dorms, hotel rooms, condos or apartments all while maintaining the integrity of the carriers network. New York, NY (PRWEB) June 27, 2007

Wi-Ex (www. wi-ex. com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, today announced that the zBoost zPersonal (zP), the personal zBoost, is now shipping. The zBoost zP repeats and amplifies a cell phone signal from outside the building to a consumer's phone and is ideal for dorms, hotel rooms, condos or apartments all while maintaining the integrity of the carriers network. The product is the first repeater-amplifier system for consumers for under $100. Retailing for $99, the zBoost zP represents the lowest priced entry unit in the zBoost product family.

"We are excited that consumers can now experience the zPersonal first-hand," said Lloyd R. Meese, President and CEO of Wi-Ex. "The zPersonal is a perfect fit for those consumers with a small footprint such as a condo or dorm, as well as those consumers who are frustrated with the cell phone signal challenges in hotel rooms. The zBoost zP provides a unique solution that is easy to set-up and provides 'take-with-you' convenience with a small footprint."

According to the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey recently commissioned by Wi-Ex and conducted by Harris Interactive®, 69% of cell phone owners have experienced service problems such as dropped calls (46%), poor signal reception (39%) or dead zones (33%). Hotel rooms, dorms and condos experience cell phone reception challenges due to environmental obstructions, building materials, metal roofs, high-speed data (reduces coverage) and network interference.

The zPersonal provides consumers with an affordable solution that captures and amplifies the 800MHz signal or the 1900MHz bands for improved cell phone signal at home, the office or on the go. The package includes everything consumers need to improve their cell phone signal including a small window mount base unit and indoor antenna. The unit is designed to sit or hang in the window and a simple indoor antenna is cabled up to 20 feet across the room. The device comes in 2 flavors - wired and wireless. The wireless antenna sits on your desk, the wired version must be connected to your phone.

Like all Wi-Ex products, the zBoost zP uses patent-pending technology to protect the carrier network. In addition, it supports voice calls or data services and works with all phones and carriers except Nextel.

In addition to the zBoost zP, zBoost offers a suite of products that improve in-door cell phone signals through the creation of cell zones. They are easy to install, affordable and increase in-building coverage by up to 2500 sq ft. The zBoost product line is compatible with 800MHz and 1900MHz and range in price from $99 - $399 including:
zBoost zP - Personal booster that works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $99 and $169 (Wireless Version) zBoost - Cellular frequency works with 800MHz - $299 zBoost - PCS frequency works with 1900MHz - $299 zBoost - Dual Band works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $399 zBoost for the car - Dual Band works with both 800MHz and 1900MHz - $299 zBoost for the Professional Installer - zBoost 600 series of products include single frequencies or a dual-band unit.

About the zBoost Cell Phone Signal Survey
This survey was conducted online within the United States by Harris Interactive on behalf of Wi-Ex between January 23 and January 25, 2007 among 2,413 adults 18 years of age or older. Figures for region, age within gender, education, household income and race/ethnicity were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents' propensity to be online.

With a pure probability sample of 2,413 adults one could say with a ninety-five percent probability that the overall results have a sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points. The sampling error for the sub-samples of cell phone owners (n= 2,052) and cell phone owners who make cell phone calls at home (n= 1,755) would be higher and may vary. However, that does not take other sources of error into account. This online survey is not based on a probability sample and therefore no theoretical sampling error can be calculated.

About Wi-Ex (www. wi-ex. com)

Wi-Ex. com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, developed zBoost, the first consumer-priced signal booster for the small office/home office (SOHO) cell phone market. Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 4, 2006

In an eight minute Video News Blog, the Full Disclosure Network™ presents a dynamic exchange of ideas expressed during a panel discussion hosted by the Milken Institute entitled "Illegal Immigration How Should We Deal With It?" The video is available for viewing free, 24/7 on demand at this URL: http://www. fulldisclosure. net/Blogs/39.php (http://www. fulldisclosure. net/Blogs/39.php) and is broadcast on 43 cable television systems in a Video News Blog Special program, as a public service of the Full Disclosure Network™.

Sociology Professor Ruben Rumbaut warns of the danger that civil unrest in the United States will result if we ignore the developing underclass of children born to illegal immigrants. In this video news blog experts and elected officials explore the shocking statistics that raise the possibility that massive illegal immigration to the United Sates could lead to the same type of violence that occurred in France and England. It was noted that the violence in Europe was caused by children of immigrants from Pakistan and other Muslim countries.

Here are other points made by the distinguished panelists featured in the Video News Blog:

GRAY DAVIS, Former California Governor says "we have a right as a country to say who comes into this country and who does not"..... "only so many people can fit into a lifeboat or it will sink."

RUBEN RUMBAUT, UCI PROFESSOR OF SOCIOLOGY: Says that 60 percent of all Mexicans, in Mexico, have relatives in the United States. He notes that the "Vital Ratio" (in the United States) among whites is one birth to one death and among Hispanics is eight births to one death which creates a disproportionate imbalance in the population.

DANA ROHRABACHER, U. S. Congressman advocates eliminating the policy of allowing family reunification, benefits and providing jobs for illegal immigrants. He says every one immigrant can bring in 90 family members.

ARNALDO TORRES, Calif. Hispanic Heath Care Assn. and National Exec. Dir. League of United Latin American Citizens (1979-85): Says that illegal immigration is an economic problem and he does not support ending the family re-unification program for immigrants.

Following the video news clips, viewers are asked to participate in an online survey by casting their vote on questions pertaining to the presentation. They are also asked to leave their comments and to join in the online blog discussion of the issue.

Battery Geek Is Pleased to Release a New Line Of Patented CPAP Batteries

Battery Geek Is Pleased to Release a New Line Of Patented CPAP Batteries

Battery Geek customers may have heard of the "extended life external and internal batteries for the mobile market." But now the older generation or baby boomers with sleep apnea/breathing problems may also get the reward of greater customer satisfaction without putting an additional strain on their bottom line as well.

Lake Oswego, OR (PRWEB) July 11, 2008

As of late 2007, Battery Geek has introduced a new line of CPAP batteries. Batteries such as the popular and universal CPAP 222 from Battery Geek Inc. allows travelers to enjoy an additional 30 or more hours per charge from their CPAP Machine equipment making travel more enjoyable and safe.

"All of our external battery packs are manufactured in our ISO 9001:2000 certified factory and are DOT and FAA approved for use in airports and on airplanes according to the DOT and FAA rules and regulations pertaining to the acceptable transport of Lithium-ion batteries effective as of 1/1/2008," says Melissa A. Murray, CO-founder and President of Battery Geek Inc.

Airborne Electronics
Each CPAP Battery is RoHS compliant and is CE and EMC certified and features internal protection against over heating, over charging and short circuit. Each CPAP Battery also includes an extended replacement warranty. They will also always clear all airport security checkpoints and will never be affected by the security x-rays. As a precaution, it is always good to check with the airline before you travel to remedy any concerns.

The problem says Murray, is that few consumers are aware until it's too late that the internal batteries in their portable medical and commercial devices have a very short charge. "Built-in batteries may provide approx two hours of run time," she reports. "That's not even enough time for any smart traveler."

These unique batteries are currently being patented in the US. Many consumers can only find these Universal CPAP batteries from the main distributor listings on their website www. batterygeek. us. However, they can be shipped all over the world and we are currently seeking more distributors for our global market.

About Battery Geek Inc.
Battery Geek Inc. specializes in state-of-the-art external batteries designed to give electronic devices the longest possible run time while keeping them operating at their highest performance. In addition to presenting batteries and accessories for sale, Battery Geek is committed to providing knowledge and education regarding battery power.

4marks. com Announces Launch of Web Platform Connecting Catholics

4marks. com Announces Launch of Web Platform Connecting Catholics

4marks. com is an Internet platform to help Catholics meet and exchange information.

Zelienople, PA (PRWEB) January 23, 2007

4marks is proud to announce the launch of the 4marks. com network. 4marks. com is an Internet platform to help Catholics meet and exchange information. The use of the 4marks platform serves to enable users to then connect in the real world, and help individuals, families and communities deepen their Christian values. This powerful new venue can serve as a crucial instrument in both spreading the Faith and bringing new people into contact with each other.

"We are responding to market demands with a web platform that allows Catholics to explore and build a stronger Christian foundation in their lives, said Brian Barcaro, co-founder of 4marks. com. "First, as social networking continues to mature, there is going to be a desire from users to extract more production from these on-line activities and move beyond casual friendships, virtual interactions or finding long-lost friends. While we do not foresee the latter activities fading, the emergence of more concrete uses is unavoidable. Second, our focus continues to be on the unique needs of our vertical market. Our experience tells us that although users will continue to use more broadly focused services, they also highly value the ability to conduct certain activities within a vertical space that has a strong faith connection. We have been focused on the Catholic, and to some degree the general Christian market, and we are excited about continuing down this path with 4marks."

The 4marks platform currently consists of ten different properties, tied together by a 4marks User ID account. This account will allow a user to access any area within a 4marks property that does not require a subscription. In addition, through our menu system and cross-pollination of applications, the properties are able to connect with each other, rather than a stand-alone space.

4marks. com Services:

Folio (beta) -- A social networking tool enabling friends and families to connect and share information.

Events -- A dynamic events calendar, with search and calendar views of local, regional and national events. Users may also plan, invite and advertise an event to others.

Forums -- A virtual community where people can discuss a variety of topics, as well as have friendly coffee shop conversation. The rooms range from broad-based topics to a narrow niche focus.

4Marks Magazine -- An on-line magazine that combines user-submitted content with well-known authors. Readers will be intrigued by many feature articles, as well as a collection of topics that can be applied to everyday life.

Photos (beta) -- Currently, this area provides the managing and serving of photos to different areas of the 4marks network. Further development will allow social networking and photo sharing between distant friends and families.

Polls -- Getting a pulse of what Catholics are saying, the polling property is all about fun and feedback. Members can view and participate in conversations/topics of interest.

Singles -- Providing singles with a place to meet other individuals of similar values is a key component of this property. Rather than being in an isolated community, users can enjoy the multiple networking benefits of 4marks while maintaining the integrity of their singles community.

Temperaments -- The 4Marks' Temperaments Test is based on a time-honored method for better understanding your natural tendencies and that of others. Our test and comparison tool provides users with insight and practical ways to work on their own tendencies, and also deal with others more productively.

Trivia (beta) -- Our trivia area enables users to have fun, compete and learn about their faith and other topics. Racing against the clock, users can answers questions weekly and a leader board is automatically updated with new results.

Education -- To be released in the first quarter of 2007, this property will provide users with the ability to subscribe to our Daily Catechism service for anyone aged Kindergarten to Adult. In a second phase, users will be able to enroll in a variety of on-line classes. Specific classes for RCIA, Pre-Cana, Baptismal Prep, among others, are also in development to further serve the parish and diocesan communities. The goal is to provide additional tools to Pastors, DRE's and individuals, to supplement parish/diocesan educational initiatives.

"One of the most exciting aspects of 4marks is that within our vertical platform we do not feel as though we will generally need to compete with other websites, Barcaro stated. "Our focus is to bring groups, content and services together. We want to provide groups and users who are producing content a platform that allows them to create an identity and focus on what they do well, while we focus on our strength, which is technology and marketing."

About 4marks. com

2010 Predictions from Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA)

2010 Predictions from Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA)

In addition to industry statistics, DMO contributors convey past and future trends for narrative (storytelling); consider current and up-and-coming digital platforms; explain the evolution of the social media revolution; and address the shifting roles of producers, advertisers and audiences in an on-demand world.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2010

The Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA) today released its annual Digital Marketing Outlook (DMO) report for 2010. The findings highlight key statistics of over a thousand of the industries top executives from major global brands, traditional and Digital agencies, vendor and service providers that operate in the Digital space, as well as freelance and independent Digital practitioners.

Results showed that 81% of brand executives expect an increase in digital projects for 2010. Of this group, 61% said they will be shifting funds from traditional to digital media. Additionally, when asked about “Top Priorities” for business in 2010, respondents indicated a continued focus on Digital Advertising, Digital Infrastructure and Search Optimization, followed closely by Social Networks/Applications.

In addition to industry statistics, contributors convey past and future trends for narrative (storytelling); consider current and up-and-coming digital platforms; explain the evolution of the social media revolution; and address the shifting roles of producers, advertisers and audiences in an on-demand world. The report also includes studies detailing digital trends from Mexico, Russia and South America.

Chief among DMO contributor insights was advice that agencies must stay tuned to the changing desires of consumers as they interface within the interactive environment—e. g. evolving social networks, mobile applications, gesture interfaces, and advances in interaction options like multi-touch screens and augmented reality.

Although business looks bright as digital marketing and social applications have continued to prosper, Steve Wages, Interim Executive Director of SoDA, issued this caution: "Digital agencies must avoid complacency at all costs and continue to focus on driving innovation as well as engaging consumers with relevant dialog in uncharted and fast moving channels."

LENGUAVIVA Promotes Spanish Courses to Students From Around the World

LENGUAVIVA Promotes Spanish Courses to Students From Around the World

To promote international education LENGUAVIVA has launched a new webpage about the Spanish courses provided in Seville - Spain.

(PRWEB) May 14, 2005

The new Web page of LENGUAVIVA www. spanish-with-fun. com offers information to international students information about all types of language courses.

Spanish with fun is a great possibility to learn or improve the Spanish language. LENGUAVIVA (since 1989) offers in downtown Sevilla courses to learn Spanish. The school is passing every two years the independent quality control CEELE.

Lorraine Keeling (26 years) said "I studied at Lenguaviva for 10 weeks as part of my degree course. I found that I learnt more in those 10 weeks than I did during a year at the university because speaking Spanish continued outside of the classroom. I also found it a great help to live with Spanish people, which was arranged by Lenguaviva. The classes were small and all the pupils were encouraged to speak as much as possible. Sevilla is one of the most beautiful cities I have been to. There is always a lot going on in Sevilla but it is small enough to get to know well. It is an ideal place to stay because it is easy to visit other cities from Sevilla such as Cordova, Granada or the beach. I am glad a chose to study in Sevilla and I look forward to returning.

"Spanish with fun" is designed to make it easy for anyone to find specific information online about learning the Spanish language in Spain.

"We want to get people of all ages and from all parts of the world interested in experiencing our city and our culture. Cross-cultural awareness and understanding is something we consider to be an important part of the education process." said Christian Kratzer, director of LENGUAVIVA.

Counseling Top Career Choice for Empathizers Says EQSQ. com

Counseling Top Career Choice for Empathizers Says EQSQ. com

According to the EQ SQ Theory of male versus female brain types, a counseling career, such as a substance abuse counselor, is a sensible choice for empathizers who have an innate ability to "care for others and to predict their behavior." Personality quizzes on EQSQ. com (http://www. eqsq. com), an online personality test resource, help users identify their brain type -- empathizing or systemizing. The quizzes also provide other EQ SQ-related resources including articles, recommended reading, education overviews and career profiles that relate to EQ SQ test results.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) December 11, 2006

On EQSQ. com (http://www. eqsq. com (http://www. eqsq. com)), an online personality test resource, users can take EQ SQ personality quizzes to identify their brain type--empathizing or systemizing. For empathizers, who have the "drive to identify and react appropriately to the way another person is feeling," a counseling career may be a top career choice.

EQSQ. com (http://www. eqsq. com (http://www. eqsq. com)) features personality quizzes developed by Sally Wheelwright and Simon Baron-Cohen based on his EQ SQ Theory of male versus female brain types. Users receive an empathizing quotient (EQ)--whether they have people skills--and a systemizing quotient (SQ)--whether they have systems skills. Visitors can then use the tools and other resources on EQSQ. com (http://www. eqsq. com (http://www. eqsq. com)) to help them explore appropriate career options based on their EQ SQ results.

Katrina Boydon, EQSQ. com columnist, is quick to point out that, "While there is currently no concrete evidence that supports using the results of the EQ SQ personality tests to make a career choice, it makes sense that individuals with a higher EQ may find the greatest success and satisfaction in careers that require excellent communication and people skills."

In her testimony to the National Blueprint for the States Policy Panel, Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, Executive Director of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, urged federal and state governments to "concentrate great amounts of energy on recruiting bright, young, energetic people to pursue a career in addiction counseling." The U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that the overall employment for counselors is expected to grow faster than average through 2014, with substance abuse counselors, in particular, experiencing excellent prospects.

A career as a substance abuse counselor may be a good choice for an empathizer, according to EQ SQ Theory information on EQSQ. com (http://www. eqsq. com (http://www. eqsq. com)), an online personality test resource. Web site users can take the EQ SQ personality quizzes to identify their brain type--empathizing or systemizing--and use other EQ SQ-related resources and tools to identify appropriate career choices.

Cumulatively the cost of untreated sleep apnea to our society amounts to over $30 Billion annually. This cost comes in the form of a 12x increase in auto accident risk, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and more. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is often a major contributing factor in all of these conditions.

There is a great system in place for people to be tested with home monitors and in lab diagnostics. Highly effective treatments are available like CPAP and Oral Appliances. So where is the problem? The problem is with awareness. An overwhelming majority of people suffering from this life threatening condition do not know it. Over $4 Billion is spent annually to treat only 2-3% of the problem.

The lack of diagnosis is what prompted Sleep Group Solutions CEO Rani Ben-David to take a more proactive approach by bringing the healthcare to the patient. This new application asks simple screening questions and even records an audio track of a person sleeping. This information is forwarded to Sleep Group Solutions’ nationwide network of sleep professionals for evaluation. A local sleep specialist will contact the patient for further evaluation if it is deemed necessary. The application is free and can be downloaded at http://itunes. apple. com/il/app/msleeptest/id383327381?mt=8 (http://itunes. apple. com/il/app/msleeptest/id383327381?mt=8)

“This is a great step forward in increasing awareness and will result in increased diagnosis and treatment of this disease” says SGS Vice President John Nadeau.

Board Certified Sleep experts Dr. Dan Tache and Dr. Gy Yatros think that this new Sleep Group Solutions application will have huge implications with preventative medicine. More people will be diagnosed, more people will be treated, and things like high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes can be prevented for millions of Americans.

Rani Ben-David said this application will fit nicely within our wide variety of product offerings for the sleep medicine community including the Eccovision Acoustic Diagnostic Pharyngometer/Rhinometer, Embletta Home Sleep Testing, Respire Oral Appliance, The Sleep Magazine, The Sleep Mall and 1-800-SLEEPLAB.

SGS is a leading provider of education, training and instrumentation for medical and dental sleep medicine professionals. The SGS Network is a nationwide group of hundreds of Sleep Labs, ENT clinics, dental sleep medicine professionals and board certified sleep physicians.

Another line of treatment for patients who suffer from Sleep Apnea is with Mandibular Advancement Devices (See www. respiremedical. com and www. glidewelldental. com) that is why Sleep Group Solutions and Glidewell Labs decided to join forces and educate dentist in learning about treating patients.

Sleep Group Solutions (SGS) has reached an agreement with Glidewell Laboratories for marketing and promotion of their dental sleep medicine seminars on oral appliance therapy to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. SGS and Glidewell will work together to market CE seminars for Dental Sleep Medicine. By increasing awareness more dental and medical professionals will begin to screen for and treat this deadly condition. SGS provides the training, protocols, education and instrumentation and Glidewell provides the oral appliance laboratory services.

Based in Miami, SGS is one of the largest dental sleep medicine companies. SGS puts on Continuing Education Seminars for dentists and physicians interested in adding the treatment of sleep apnea to their practice. Their innovative protocols and instrumentation have become an industry standard. Recently they have accelerated marketing efforts by launching 1-800-SleepLab and are actively working to create regional multidisciplinary treatment models where Dental, ENT and Sleep Medicine clients work together to diagnose and treat patients.

Glidewell Laboratories provides high quality products and services for a low cost. Established in January 1970 by Jim Glidewell, CDT, the company specializes in crown and bridge, ceramic, removable full and partial dentures, implants, snoring and sleep apnea appliances, and full-cast restorations. Glidewell is an industry leader thanks to its innovative dental technology, multidisciplinary fifty three person R&D department, and dedication to providing free clinical and technical education to promote industry growth. Glidewell has grown to be one of the largest dental labs in the world and has seen a great increase in the demand for oral appliances to treat snoring and sleep apnea in recent years.

“This partnership simply makes sense” says SGS President Rani Ben-David. “Our services complement each other very well, joining our efforts to increase awareness and get more dentists involved in this life saving therapy is a win for everyone.”

Washington, D. C. (PRWEB) February 17, 2007

The Human Capital Institute (http://www. humancapitalinstitute. org/hci/home. guid) (HCI), a global professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and Franklin University, a Columbus-based educator known for its focus on providing educational opportunities and choices for working adults, announced today the details of their next network & learn event. Dr. E. Ted Prince (http://www. humancapitalinstitute. org/hci/events_bschool. guid?_trainingID=1062), CEO and Founder of the Perth Leadership Institute, will be the featured presenter.

The complimentary breakfast event (http://www. humancapitalinstitute. org/hci/events_bschool. guid?_trainingID=1062) will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM ET, on the Franklin University Columbus campus in the Richard M. Ross Auditorium, 301 E. Rich Street.

"Recruiting the right people is critical for financial success in today's knowledge economy. However, HR departments are typically unaware of the single most pivotal aspect of doing this successfully," said Allan Schweyer, HCI's President & Executive Director. "Ted Prince refers to it as the Financial Signature™ of potential recruits."

Dr. Prince's presentation (http://www. humancapitalinstitute. org/hci/events_bschool. guid?_trainingID=1062), "Recruiting and Developing Winning Leaders in the Public and Private Sectors," will share how the innate financial competencies of managers impact the performance and valuation outcomes of organizations, and how executives and human resource managers can identify and leverage the financial personalities of potential hires. Dr. Prince will provide examples of how forward-thinking government agencies, not-for-profits, and corporations have applied his predictive model, the Financial Signature™, and associated research findings to recruit and hire the right executives, and to develop high potential leaders--at all management levels.

Attending HR executives will come away with a comprehensible framework and vocabulary that will better equip them to work with the CEO, CFO, and COO, and help them take their "seat at the table" as strategic business partners.

Dr. E. Ted Prince is author of the book, "The Three Financial Styles of Very Successful Executives, published by McGraw-Hill in August 2005. His book addresses the Financial Signature™ of leaders and its impact on company outcome and valuation.

After extensive research on the personality and leadership styles of hundreds of high-profile C-level executives, Dr. Prince developed a predictive model that can actually forecast the impact an executive will have on the corporate bottom line. Amazingly, many executives that would be considered model leaders are destined to lose money or constrain corporate valuation year after year due to Financial Signature™ and leadership styles that could easily be fixed through proper coaching.

Prince's work is held in high regard. His article, "The Fiscal Behavior of CEOs," was recently published in the prestigious journal of MIT's Sloan School of Management, an honor reserved for the world's most innovative thought leaders in business.

Dr. E. Ted Prince is an expert in the area of leadership performance and improvement. As CEO and Founder of the Perth Leadership Institute, he is the architect of the Perth Leadership Outcome Model, the basis for the Perth Leadership System, which is used by corporations and executive education organizations. He consults to CEOs, boards, and senior executives on leadership improvement.

Prince has an extensive background at the CEO level in both public and private companies. He was Chairman and CEO of Clearstory Systems, Inc. (formerly INSCI Corp.), a Boston-based public (NASDAQ) company that developed enterprise content management software, a role in which he served for almost six years. Among several other CEO roles, he also served as President and CEO of Computer Power Group in New York (later acquired by Spherion).

There is no charge for the Franklin event, and it is open to the public. Interested professionals should call 866-538-1909 to register. For a list of Human Capital Leadership events at prestigious universities throughout the U. S. and Canada, please visit: www. humancapitalinstitute. org

Ocean City, MD (Vocus) May 14, 2010

National Aquarium staff and volunteers were joined by community members on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland to help “Hastings” the harbor seal with his oceanic return! Hastings suffered severe lacerations to his front flipper, but thanks to months of rehabilitation by The National Aquarium’s Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP), he was rescued, rehabilitated and safely released back to sea. The public can track his progress at http://www. aqua. org/trackhastings. html (http://www. aqua. org/trackhastings. html).

The juvenile male harbor seal was stranded along the Atlantic coast of Maryland, in the town of Ocean City, on January 15, 2010. MARP responded, and the seal was admitted to the National Aquarium for rehabilitation. Upon admission, the seal was underweight, severely dehydrated, mildly emaciated, and medically compromised due to a wound behind the left front flipper. In addition to the wound, he was found to have an upper respiratory infection and a mild case of pneumonia at the time of being admitted for rehab.

The seal, called Hastings, was treated with antibiotics for several weeks, and his wound was treated every three days for two weeks. Hastings responded well to treatment and was soon interacting with enrichment devices, the animal equivalent of toys, and eagerly eating. While in rehab, Hastings gained nearly 20 pounds on a daily diet of herring and capelin.

“Hastings overcame many challenges while in rehabilitation, and we have every reason to believe that he will have a successful reintroduction back into his natural environment,” says MARP stranding coordinator Jennifer Dittmar, “We strive to return these stranded animals to the ocean as soon as they are ready, and to minimize contact while they are in our care, in order to avoid them coming to associate humans with food.”

Upon release, the healthy seal weighed 71 pounds and was eating 7 lbs of fish a day. He was named Hastings by the Pettus-Crowe Foundation, a private donor who funded a satellite tracking tag for the seal. The satellite tag was affixed to his fur so Aquarium staff and researchers can learn more about seal migration and travel patterns. The public is invited to follow Hastings’ progress by viewing a satellite map of his travels at the Aquarium’s website at http://www. aqua. org/trackhastings (http://www. aqua. org/trackhastings). Information will be gathered until the adhesive fails and the tag falls off.

This is the 83rd animal released by the National Aquarium. Formed in 1991 and staffed almost entirely by volunteers, the Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) is the cornerstone of the National Aquarium's ocean health initiative. Formed in 1991 and staffed almost entirely by volunteers, MARP’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release stranded animals back into the natural environment whenever possible; share knowledge with the scientific community; and provide public educational programs through special events and presentations. MARP has successfully rescued, treated, and returned seals, dolphins, porpoises, pilot whales, pygmy sperm whales, sea turtles, and a manatee to their natural habitats.

Many of MARP’s patients are sick or injured due to human-related activities like boat strikes, gear entanglement or plastic ingestion. Weather, malnourishment, exhaustion and pollution also contribute to strandings. Rescuing and studying stranded animals provides vital information about the status of the ocean and coastal environments, as well as the biology and health of the animals that live in those environments.

The public in invited to help with the National Aquarium’s marine animal rehabilitation efforts. Txt ACT to 20222 to make a $5 donation. Msg & data rates apply or visit http://www. aqua. org (http://www. aqua. org).

It has enjoyed strong, reliable attendance since opening on August 8, 1981. With original attendance projections of 650,000 visitors per year, the National Aquarium has welcomed an average annual attendance of 1.5 million over the past 10 years. Through transforming experiences, the National Aquarium inspires people to enjoy, respect, and protect the aquatic world. It is dedicated to education and conservation through more than a dozen programs that serve the environment and the community.

The National Aquarium is a member of the Northeast Region of the National Stranding Network through an agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries Service. MARP staff and volunteers respond to animal strandings 24 hours a day in the coastal areas of Virginia, Maryland and Delaware, and have returned more than 80 marine animals back to their natural environment.
