Canada Immigration Key to Sustaining the Canadian Population

Canada Immigration Key to Sustaining the Canadian Population

With a dwindling national birthrate and baby boomers nearing the end of their lifespans towards 2030, Canada will soon be completely dependent on immigration to maintain population and economic growth. According to a Statistics Canada national census, immigration is currently responsible for two thirds of Canada's 5.4% growth.

Montreal, QC (PRWEB) March 15, 2007

This trend will continue and the Canadian economy and Canadian employers will become even more reliant on newly arriving immigrants and foreign workers to staff their organizations. Canada is currently admitting over 250,000 immigrants every year, mainly under the Federal Skilled Worker (http://www. canadavisa. com/canadian-skilled-worker-immigration. html) category, which selects candidates based on education, training, and work experience.

Attorney David Cohen, of the Canadian immigration law firm of Campbell Cohen, believes that Canadian immigration has already reached a critical mass. "Immigrants are an integral part of what Canada is and what it is going to be," he states, highlighting that Canada has no choice but to encourage immigration to sustain the country. "The question on an economic, but more importantly, on a human level, is how to make their transition to Canada as smooth as possible." Of the view that the most important element to immigrant integration is finding meaningful work in Canada (http://www. canadavisa. com/canada-immigration-career-zone. html), Cohen raises the issue of accreditation and foreign skill recognition. "Foreign skills accreditation in Canada has not kept pace with rising immigration levels. Given the importance of immigrants to our country's economy, Canada will need to do better," states Cohen.

About David Cohen (http://www. canadavisa. com/profile. htm)

Attorney David Cohen is a Senior Partner at the Canadian law firm of Campbell Cohen and a Managing Editor of canadavisa. com. Cohen started his practice in 1976. He graduated from Montreal's McGill University Faculty of Law, and is a member of the Quebec and Canadian Bar Associations as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Most recently, he was appointed a governor of the Fondation du Barreau du Québec.

Farming with the whole of Europe

Farming with the whole of Europe

A new service for UK farmers offering pickers, farmworkers, and seasonal labour introduced by Slovak company Aston Ltd. under the tradename Farmhands Service

(PRWEB) May 16, 2005

The first experience with UK farming came during university studies when Marian Bridik needed money to finance his education and fun life as well. Although the first farming stay, picking strawberries and apples, was not the greatest in terms of earnings, the atmosphere appealed and the idea came later.

Further visits improved the overall understanding and general workings of a farm and the hard work that needs to be put in. Combined with the international atmosphere and the different nationalities, the experience of coming to work on a farm turned out to be enjoyable and filled with fun not only for the student but for the farmer as well.

Knowing the requirements of both sides, the farmers and the students, it came natural, and with the European Union even possible, to put the idea to work.

The Farmhands service is offered to uk farming enterprises or agricultural entities that require summer student workers. The businesses need to have appropriate social amenities and accommodation. Representatives of Farmhands visit and make documentation so that there are no misunderstandings in later cooperation.

Once the farmer signs a contract with Farmhands which specifies number of students and arrival dates, there is no further things to worry about. All confirmations and paperwork is done by the agency and the farm receives the student details by the end of February. The agency charges a non refundable commitment fee of 100 GBP and 40 GBP for every student requested. Further information is available at www. farmhands. co. uk.

The interest so far is great with contracted places as of June at around 300 for the summer 2005 season. The interest from students is outstripping demand by 10 times at a fee equal to about one weeks salary. The target now is to establish quality relationships with good farms and grow the contracted places to 2000 to 2500 while lowering the placement fee.

Figurative Impulses Photo Exhibition at ArteF Fine Art Photography Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland

Figurative Impulses Photo Exhibition at ArteF Fine Art Photography Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland

Photo Exhibition at ArteF Fine Art Photography Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland Artist: Manuela Carrano(Milan, Italy) and Occhiomagico (Milan, Italy) Exhibition: March 24 to May 6, 2006

(PRWEB) March 21, 2006

Photo exhibition at ArteF Fine Art Photography Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland. Artist: Manuela Carrano(Milan, Italy) and Occhiomagico (Milan, Italy) Exhibition: March 24 to May 6, 2006

In its next exhibition, the ArteF gallery will be looking at the current Italian “offshoots” who have spread across the world from the DaDa “plant” of Zurich since 5 February 1916.

The two-dimensional boundaries are broken and the “reality” of photography transported to an emotional level by the added materiality. Photography as a medium is the starting point for surreal estrangement and superelevation by means of the most diverse materials such as nails, cardboard, paint and light. Emotion, thought and dream complete the outer skin in increments, the realistic projection surface of the photography that is perceived as the image of the reality. Art and craft complement the photographic lens, displaying the individual possibilities for interpretation in a three-dimensional room setting that does not contain the medium of photography itself. The iconography of a photographed reality no longer matches the validity of the object we depict or of a known person, but itself becomes the cryptological sign and internalised cipher of the artist’s imagination.

Manuela Carrano

The works of Manuela Carrano between dream and brute material reveal a sensuality – a puzzle of physical pleasure and technology, of irrationality and gentle calm. Manuela Carrano’s elaborate works are wholly in the tradition of the tactile surrealism of a Meret Oppenheim. She photographs people from her personal environment, prints the pictures on fabric, then paints and nails them in painstaking detail by hand. The results are unique works of art in ‘feminine’ materials (fabric, naked female bodies) and ‘masculine’ metal nails that appear to float in the greenhouse of experience and memories. These dream landscapes of the inner life are mounted on wood and surrounded in velvet, and, like the works of Louise Bourgeois, create an iridescent tension between violability and melancholy that breaks the rules of photography and makes the pain of living tangible. A gentle unicorn with a collar of nails is a unique interpretation of the transgression between photography, painting and three-dimensionality.

Occhiomagico

The “jack-of-all-trades” Giancarlo Maiocchi cannot be defined by one single genre. Occhiomagico is a platform on which music, photography, education in art, advertising and design flow together in order to create inter-disciplinary works of art from them. Enriched by the volatility of music or the omnipresent design, his photographs oscillate between installation and happening, art object and flux.

Maiocchi completed the installation series (Light Boxes) Mi Vida on display at the ArteF whilst he was in charge of music, dance and theatre at the Biennale in Venice. In his work, he commemorates the atmosphere between dream, analysis and profundity of the Surrealists Man Ray and Salvador DalĂ, and Bunuel’s chien andalou. Like Manuela Carrano, to Maiocchi the body in its fragility and violability is the mirror on which the battle of our life takes place. But by using out-of-the-ordinary additions or references to design quotes, the artist mixes symbolism, Surrealism, metaphysical and psychedelic experiences in a floating and yet compressed statement that creates the same feelings as a David Lynch film.

PayPal, An eBay Company, Selects The Edcomm Group To Deliver Banking Compliance Training

PayPal, An eBay Company, Selects The Edcomm Group To Deliver Banking Compliance Training

PayPal, an eBay Company, has selected The Edcomm Group to deliver Anti-Money Laundering Banking Compliance training — for its company-wide training needs. PayPal was formerly under contract with Compliance Coach, but has taken advantage of Edcomm’s “Switch for Compliance Excellence” program.

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) August 12, 2006

PayPal, an eBay Company, has selected The Edcomm Group to deliver Anti-Money Laundering Banking Compliance training — for its company-wide training needs. PayPal was formerly under contract with Compliance Coach, but has taken advantage of Edcomm’s “Switch for Compliance Excellence” program.

“Switch for Compliance Excellence” was developed by Edcomm as a way for financial services companies that are currently under contract with a different compliance training vendor, to switch to Edcomm’s Focus on Compliance course, free of charge. Edcomm is offering to switch any company from any vendor at no cost. Also at no cost, Edcomm will migrate all historical compliance training records into Learning Link® for seamless record-keeping and reporting.

Dr. Linda Eagle, President of The Edcomm Group said, “We want to enable every banking and financial services company to provide the very best compliance training to their people by delivering our Focus on Compliance program. If you’re working with another vendor — BAI, BankersEdge, Bankers Systems, BTCC, BVS, Compliance Coach, Digital University, Harland, Kirchman, Sage Online Learning, Thomson NETg, TRC Interactive, Trinity Workplace Learning, Sheshunoff, Wolters Kluwer, or anyone else — we will switch you over at no additional cost to you.”

Eagle explained a few of the differences between Edcomm’s Compliance Training and the products and services offered by other vendors. “Our content is superior and our service is superior, but it doesn’t stop there. When we sign up a client, it’s their choice to renew. We don’t demand a binding, multi-year contract the way most of our competitors do. Companies stay with Edcomm because they want to, not because they have to!”

As a money service business, PayPal is bound by many of the same laws, regulations and examinations that govern the banking industry. As a dedicated financial institution, PayPal is committed to compliance excellence and as such, has enlisted The Edcomm Group to deliver a customized version of Focus on Compliance.

Focus on Compliance, a computer-based, distance-learning program, can be delivered via Internet, Intranet or CD-ROM. The program teaches banking compliance using easy-to-understand language in an interactive, self-paced format. Participants learn from their own perspective, with a curriculum customized to their position.

Now you can with the recently released 3 Minute Vacations from Workplace Stress Solutions, full working samples of which are available for free download from www. takethebreak. com.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 29, 2005

Designed to reduce stress and anxiety and promote relaxation and meditation, 3 Minute Vacations on CD ROM and DVD offer virtual "vacations" for viewing and listening pleasure. Without leaving your chair, you can experience a guided visualization to beautiful and serene locales from around the globe, with soothing natural sounds. This unique and affordable product allows you that little guilt-free escape from the tasks at hand. Travel to the beaches of Hawaii for a picturesque sunset or the sunswept fields of Missouri or Puerto Vallarta for a tropical rain. Surf rocks in Maui, lakes in Finland, swans in Estonia, blowing clouds in England and more. In all, there are 24, 3 Minute Vacations in 3 volumes of eight each.

"Think of your computer monitor or TV screen as a picture window where the view changes every three minutes, and where you can escape from your stress to a peaceful place far from home and work," says Ulla Anneli, the Los Angeles-based registered nurse and Hatha yoga teacher, anti-aging and holistic health expert behind the therapeutic disk. "All you need to do is watch, listen, breathe and relax!"

Simple and easy-to-use, taking 3 Minute Vacations at work can turn a tension-filled day into one that seems pressure free. In fact, a 2001 study conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health reported that taking multiple "microbreaks" (about three minutes each) reduces strain and discomfort without decreasing productivity. 3 Minute Vacations go a long way toward reducing stress that’s so prevalent in today’s workplace.

On CD ROM, 3 Minute Vacations offer a menu of various user-selectable musical and/or natural sound accompaniments that provide that little escape that can make a big difference every day. There’s also a continuous play feature. Volumes 1, 2 and 3 include eight (8) individual "vacations". All three volumes are also available on DVD with natural sound for continuous play on your PC, laptop or TV. The DVD version is ideal for private homes, doctor or dentist's offices, nursing homes -- any place that can benefit from continuous, relaxing sights and sounds.

Know someone who’s stressed? 3 Minute Vacations makes an innovative gift. The product is currently available for individual users for $19.95 per volume or $49.95 for Volumes 1, 2 and 3 in CD ROM (Windows only) or DVD format via TakeTheBreak. com.

Families Impacted By Cancer Turn Out To Support Cancer Walk "Many Small Steps Making A Big Difference.”

Families Impacted By Cancer Turn Out To Support Cancer Walk "Many Small Steps Making A Big Difference.”

Hundreds of local families impacted by cancer will take part in the Mother's Day Walk Against Cancer. This event is produced by Latinas Contra Cancer, a local nonprofit agency that deals with the issue of cancer in the Latino community.

(PRWEB) May 9, 2004

SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB)– May 9, 2004 – A City of San Jose employee and 10 family members will be walking with their 71 year old mother who is currently battling breast cancer. A 17-year-old cancer survivor will be volunteering at the walk, helping to raise awareness about the disease he overcame. Another family who lost their mother to cancer will also be walking in her memory. They along with hundreds like them will be participating in the "Mother's Day Walk Against Cancer".

“The Mother’s Day Walk Against Cancer” commences at 8:30 a. m. at St. James Park in downtown San Jose. The 2.6-mile walk ends with a brunch at the Mexican Heritage Plaza. Over 300 walkers are expected, including San Jose City Council Members Nora Campos and Cindy Chavez.

Proceeds from this years walk will help Latinas Contra Cancer provide various programs including free counseling. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will benefit other small agencies including Las Isabelas.

“The purpose of this event is to let the community know that they are not alone in this struggle,” said Ysabel Duron, Executive Director of Latinas Contra Cancer. “Not addressing the issue will not make it go away.”

The San Jose based non-profit produces two annual fundraising events - “Una Luz, Una Vida, Fiesta Navidena” and “The Mother’s Day Walk Against Cancer” – to provide a stream of revenue that aids in the development and support of its programs. Both events focus on the need to support Latinos who are isolated in their fight against cancer due to cultural and linguistic barriers. High mortality rates are attributed to lack of education and early prevention. Latinas Contra Cancer aims to increase awareness in the community through the annual walk.

About Latinas Contra Cancer

Latinas Contra Cancer was founded to address the void in culturally and linguistically sensitive programs that meet the health care needs of Latinos around the issues of cancer. Latinas Contra Cancer targets the underserved, Spanish speaking Latino community in California. Because similar needs exist throughout Latino communities around the country, Latinas Contra Cancer also provides service nationwide.

GetMyHomesValue. com Attends Random Hacks of Kindness Hackathon 2010

GetMyHomesValue. com Attends Random Hacks of Kindness Hackathon 2010

Online real estate company sponsored lead programmer to participate at this year's Random Hacks of Kindness Hackathon.

Lancaster, PA (Vocus) June 8, 2010

GetMyHomesValue. com, a Lancaster-based company providing online real estate lead generation (http://info. getmyhomesvalue. com/), sponsored their lead programmer Stephen Rees to participate as a "hacker" during this year’s Random Hacks of Kindness (RHoK) Hackathon in Washington, D. C., June 4-6, 2010. The Random Hacks of Kindness Hackathon gathered software developers from all over the world to help respond to challenges facing humanity in the areas of disaster response and risk mitigation. Rees contributed his skills toward developing new ideas, specifications, and code that served the goals of this community.

During the hackathon, software developers dedicated their time to planning and coding sessions. Over 160 registrants spent two days producing more than 15 applications for entry. The applications being developed endeavor to promote immediate survival, provide short term reporting and information dissemination, and support long term recovery efforts in the aftermath of a disaster.

“This was an eye-opening and educational experience for me to be a part of,” stated Rees. “Being able to meet and work with talented programmers from all over the country to not only address, but contribute a solution to worldwide needs is extremely rewarding.”

Rees had the opportunity to participate on a project dedicated to creating software for emergency response teams. The project, World Wide Community Emergency Response Team (WWCERT), designed a simple coordination tool to be used worldwide. The program manages contacts such as volunteers and equipment within the area of a crisis. Rees would like to develop this program for usage as a mobile application with capabilities to track status, facilities and people.

Much of the strategy was developed during the hackathon, but Rees is continuing to work to address project hurdles and needs with hopes of completing the application by next year.

The winner selected at the end of the event was the “Access to Landslide Prediction Software for Risk Reduction” group. All other groups’ applications will be documented with what the participants accomplished during their time at the RHoK Hackathon. Much of what was developed will continue to be worked on for the remainder of the year and/or picked up again during the next RHoK Hackathon until complete.

Random Hacks of Kindness
The RHoK hackathon aims to help improve the world. The Random Hacks of Kindness is a joint effort founded by Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft, NASA and The World Bank and is dedicated to bringing software developers together to respond to challenges facing humanity in the area of natural disaster risk. The RHoK’s Hackathon of 2009 solution was used on the ground in Haiti and Chile following the devastating earthquakes there in early 2010.

New Orleans Interactive Agency Develops Tuition Loan Portal

New Orleans Interactive Agency Develops Tuition Loan Portal

Online Tuition Loan System Provides Advantages to Parents and Schools

New Orleans, La. (PRWEB) April 19, 2010

First Bank and Trust has reshaped the way parents apply for and pay for tuition loans online with the help of local interactive agency Mudbug Media. The newly revamped FBT Tuition online payment system (tuition. FBTonline. com) allows parents to securely apply for a tuition loan and make payments toward that loan online, saving time and paper.

“The team at Mudbug Media has just been fantastic,” First Bank and Trust education division relationship support manager Jimmy Murphy said. “Everyone has been very responsive and professional every step of the way.”

One major advantage of the newly redesigned site over the original is the ease of use for parents, schools and the bank, Murphy said, a necessity since tuition lending accounts for approximately 20 percent of First Bank and Trust's annual loans.

“We generally end up doing about 13,000 loans every year,” Murphy said. “What this system allows us to do which we couldn't do before the schools that elect to do this allow parents to elect to make payments to the school directly through the bank draft option, which is something new that we are able to offer.”

More than 1,500 hours of design and programming work have gone into the tuition lending site, according to Mudbug Media web technology director Sean McCann. The interactive agency utilized its designers and developers based in New Orleans plus some that work remotely from Washington, D. C., Houston and Sacramento.

St. Catherine of Sienna school bursar Jane Robbins said the First Bank and Trust tuition system is the most efficient method of collecting tuition she has ever seen. “I have done tuition over here for 10 years and this is the first time it's ever worked,” Robbins said. “It just made my job so much easier. It is wonderful.”

Murphy said the responsiveness of the Mudbug Media team has given him confidence in the security and efficiency of the system. “Overall I can't say enough,” Murphy said. “This has been an improvement for our bank and for our customers.”

Web Site Publishes 2010 Annual Listing of Real Business Grant Opportunities

Web Site Publishes 2010 Annual Listing of Real Business Grant Opportunities

BusinessGrants. org, launched in 2008 as the official online resource for real and legit business funding opportunities, has published their annual listing.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) February 18, 2010

The National Institute of Small Business Grants, a leading global resource for business funding, has published their annual 2010 listing of business grant opportunities. The extensive listing is available online at www. BusinessGrants. org, and is free to the public.

Nike, Microsoft, Intuit, Pepsi, MillerCoors, and IBM are just a few of the companies listed who have programs that are designed to give business grants away this year. Organizations include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Dayton Foundation, IFA Educational Foundation and the PepsiCo Foundation. Government agencies include the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), FTA (Federal Transit Administration), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and more.

A business grant is a unique form of funding whereas cash awards are given to entrepreneurs and business owners when they qualify for the specified guidelines. There is typically no expectation of repayment. Such grants are given away by major corporations for charity and public relations purposes, but are also given away by non-profits and government agencies to help rebuild or strengthen small business communities.

Because the Internet is saturated with so much fraudulent information pertaining to business grants, BusinessGrants. org was launched in 2008 as the official online resource for real and legit funding opportunities. The site reports on all avenues of business funding, and features exclusive and original news, tips, videos, and a daily blog.

The site also has a Twitter account (www. twitter. com/bizgrants (http://www. twitter. com/bizgrants)) and a YouTube channel (www. youtube. com/businessgrants (http://www. youtube. com/businessgrants)) to support their social media outreach.

North Carolina Municipality Partners with Mary Rogan Photography to Provide Online Registration Tool for Clinton Residents

North Carolina Municipality Partners with Mary Rogan Photography to Provide Online Registration Tool for Clinton Residents

Community Season today announced a unique partnership between the Clinton, N. C., Recreation Department and regional business owner Mary Rogan of Mary Rogan Photography, St. Pauls, N. C.

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) March 8, 2006

Community Season today announced a unique partnership between the Clinton, N. C., Recreation Department and regional business owner Mary Rogan of Mary Rogan Photography, St. Pauls, N. C.

Regional business owner Mary Rogan of Mary Rogan Photography has agreed to sponsor the Clinton Recreation Department’s new online registration site, powered by Community Season in one of the first sponsorships of its kind. The Clinton Recreation Department is adding Community Season’s Web-based tool to help Clinton area residents register online for classes, sports teams, leagues and other recreation services.

“We are really excited about offering this new service to our community,” said Judi Nicholson, CPRP and CPO, director of the Clinton Recreation Department. “Community Season’s reasonable subscription pricing option has allowed Clinton to implement a full-service solution immediately, versus postponing it for approval for the next budget cycle. One of the added benefits of finding a sponsor to pay administrative costs for the system is that this additional service offering won’t impact our budget. As a result, our organization and community can start realizing the benefits of this system immediately.”

The online registration site will launch with the spring registration season beginning in February 2006 with baseball leagues, just two weeks after the sponsorship agreement was finalized.

The new Web tool, developed by Community Season, a leader in Web-based community management services, will allow Clinton’s 8,000 residents to easily register and pay for classes and activities from their home computers as well as receive online confirmation and receipts. This new system also allows the Clinton Recreation Department to view account histories, track metrics and pull reports, thereby decreasing administrative overhead and increasing resident satisfaction.

“We have looked at other Park and Recreation software over the past couple years to give our residents online registration but we just could not afford it,” Nicholson added. “Community Season now allows us to have the same tools that much larger communities use. Not only will class registration be far more convenient for our residents, but Mary Rogan Photography’s sponsorship will save the community money. Mary is providing a valuable service to all the busy Clinton residents who want to sign up for classes for themselves or their children, while getting exposure for her photography business. It’s really a win-win for everyone.”

Community Season also recognizes the value such sponsorships bring to municipalities and area businesses who want to reach this valuable market. “This is one of the first programs we know of where a sponsor has covered ongoing administrative costs versus a event or specific festival for a park and recreation group,” said Phil Sykes, Community Season CEO. “It’s a perfect way for small to mid-size cities like Clinton to afford a service they may not normally consider and a great way for regional business to reach out to families to grow their own businesses. New Orleans Writers Museum Project Announced

New Orleans Writers Museum Project Announced

Today the Louisiana Writers Foundation announced plans to create a museum honoring writers who have lived in New Orleans that will also provide services to support those presently living and writing in the city.

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) August 28, 2008

The Louisiana Writers Foundation (LWF) has announced plans to create a museum honoring writers who have lived in New Orleans that will also provide services to support those presently living and writing in the city.

The announcement was originally scheduled three years ago this week, but Hurricane Katrina scuttled the effort. "New Orleans is and was a wonderful place for writers, and a place to honor their legacies," stated writer and NPR commentator, Andrei Codrescu. New Orleans has a rich literary tradition dating back more than two centuries. Writers such as Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Truman Capote, Tennessee Williams and William S. Burroughs have made New Orleans their home. Perhaps lesser known is that other famed writers have lived there including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Walt Whitman, Eugene O'Neill and Charles Bukowski.

"New Orleans has historically had a thriving literary community and the planned New Orleans Writers Museum will be a living, educational memorial for visitors and residents alike," stated Robert Smallwood, a writer and founder of LWF. Smallwood's book, "The Five People You Meet in Hell: Surviving Katrina," was the first eyewitness account published of the hurricane and its violent aftermath in downtown New Orleans in August, 2005.

"The past is illustrious, but writers continue to live and write here," Codrescu stated. "Such a museum would function ideally as both a place to educate people about our writing tradition, and a clearinghouse for writers who choose New Orleans for their literary habitat."

Several locations within the New Orleans French Quarter are being reviewed as a possible site for the New Orleans Writers Museum.

The Louisiana Writers Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to support the efforts of Louisiana writers and to preserve the literary heritage of the state hardest hit by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

“Naturally, employers have numerous concerns and questions about the new COBRA law,” explains Mary Jo Davis, the Web forum’s speaker. “Ceridian’s introduction should help employers understand the new COBRA subsidy and how we can help implement the changes.”

Ms. Davis, a senior manager for Ceridian's Benefits Continuation and Health and Welfare product lines, has more than 20 years of experience in the benefits industry. .

Some of the key questions Ceridian's Web forum will answer include:
What is required of employers and when must they act?  Who is eligible?  What are the new law's key milestones?  What is the risk of non-compliance?  What is Ceridian doing to help employers implement these changes?

Web forum participants will have an opportunity to ask questions during the presentation.

Luminvision Ltd., Interactive Floor Projection Systems

Luminvision Ltd., Interactive Floor Projection Systems

Luminvision Ltd. have just launched their latest product, the ADVIS Interactive Projection System. Their software and hardware package can turn ordinary computers and projectors into a virtual interactive wall or floor.

(PRWEB) October 25, 2006

Luminvision Ltd. have just launched their latest product, the ADVIS Interactive Projection System. Their software and hardware package can turn ordinary computers and projectors into a virtual interactive wall or floor.

Interactive Projection is extremely versatile, it can be used in many different situations within many different industries. ADVIS (Advanced Interactive Systems) can project interactive visual content onto almost any wall or floor. The audience has the ability to interact with whatever is projected; it not only keeps them entertained, it's also an ideal advertising medium. Marketing and advertising, lighting effects, education and entertainment are just some of its uses; the system has been used successfully at exhibitions, parties, corporate events, nightclubs, shopping centres, product launches and more.

The system is unique as the components that make up an interactive projection system have been split down to make the system much more affordable. Luminvision Ltd (www. luminvision. co. uk) supply the software and hardware needed to turn an ordinary projector and PC into a complete Interactive Projection System. The size of the interactive space is only limited by the projector, and even then, their software has the ability to link multiple systems together to make larger projections.

They have built a library of different interactive effects including a Virtual Fish Pond, a Virtual Football Pitch and Virtual Flames. They plan to develop and launch more than 100 different effects over the next year. With their programs, you have the ability to insert your own logos, backgrounds and 3D models and also adjust settings such as sensitivity and speed.

What makes ADVIS much more cost effective than similar systems is the ability to purchase effects separately. If you only require one specific effect, you only have to buy that effect. You can then purchase or even hire other effects as and when you need them, and if there is nothing in their library that suits your needs, they can custom design an effect within as little as a weeks turnaround.

The Stationery Market was worth an estimated £2.24bn at manufacturers' selling prices (msp) in 2002 but a difficult economic environment is expected in 2003, with gradual improvement from 2004.

The apparent market for stationery was worth an estimated £2.24bn at manufacturers' selling prices (msp) in 2002, with overall sales remaining static. For the future, a difficult economic environment in 2003 is forecast, with gradual improvement from 2004.

Research and Markets have announced the addition of the "Stationery (PRWEB) September 24, 2003

The apparent market for stationery was worth an estimated £2.24bn at manufacturers' selling prices (msp) in 2002, with overall sales remaining static.

This market includes products for office, home and educational use, but excludes greetings cards and calendars. 77.7% of the market is made up of products made principally from paper and board, including, for example, envelopes, cut paper, continuous business forms and files and folders. The remaining 22.3% of the market is made up of writing instruments, desktop items and other miscellaneous stationery items.

Weaker economic growth in 2001 and falling business confidence in the wake of the US terrorist attacks on 11th September combined with intense price pressure from imports in many sectors. Some stationery suppliers reported an improvement in 2002, but price pressure remained strong.

Paper prices have been depressed and appear to have reached a minimum cost during 2002. This has affected all of the paper stationery sectors to some extent.

The generalised use of computers, page printers, e-mail and electronic trading has had its effect on the stationery market, but this has not been to reduce the overall demand for paper. Rather, the types of products needed have changed and some traditional stationery products are moving towards obsolescence.

The volume of direct mail continues to grow, although this market is more mature in the UK than elsewhere in Europe. This trend is particularly helpful to the bespoke envelopes and business forms sectors and to label sales.

Consumer spending has continued to grow. Christmas gift spending was strong in 2001 and remained at around the same level in 2002, and stationery items benefited from some of this spending.

For the future, we expect a difficult economic environment in 2003, with gradual improvement from 2004. There will be continued pressure from imports, but prices of raw materials are likely to rise. We forecast gradual growth for the stationery market in current price terms to 2007, but a slight fall in 2003 in constant price terms.

Black Business Moms Getting Organized

Black Business Moms Getting Organized

International Black Business Moms Association Inc., a non-profit association for black working moms, has just been formed by a home-based working mom in No. California. Olivehurst, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2006

International Black Business Moms Association Inc., a non-profit association for black working moms, has just been formed by a home-based working mom in No. California. We are a membership driven association that believes all women, regardless of social or economic conditions, have the capacity to take charge of their own lives and business careers.

The association is set to open their membership enrollment in October of 2006.

The International Black Business Moms Association Inc. is a not for profit association created to both celebrate and educate black business moms. It is our desire to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of these working moms. By creating programs that specifically meet the needs of this particular group of women, we’re able to inspire and empower them to achieve their vision to become successful small business owners. Ms. Cleo Anderson is the founder and National President of the International Black Business Moms Association Inc. also known as IBBMA.

The US Census Bureau reports that black owned businesses are the fastest growing small businesses in the US. In 2002, there were 1.2 million black-owned firms in the U. S., employing nearly 754 thousand persons and generating nearly $89 billion in business revenues. The number of women-owned businesses grew 20 percent between 1997 and 2002, twice the national average for all businesses, according to a new U. S. Census Bureau report.

Within the statistics presented by the US Census Bureau there is still no true statistics on how much of that growth was contributed by African American Entrepreneurial Women. What’s more interesting is that within the online working mom’s community, less than 2% of the loans and grants are given to African American moms.

Ms. Anderson notes that while doing research on professional associations, she realized that she couldn’t find any created to promote and support the black working mom. “I have to tell you that this concerns me, says Ms. Cleo Anderson.” Realizing that this was the perfect opportunity to create something that would celebrate the successes of the black working mom and her entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Cleo Anderson set out to bring together a group of supportive business women to help her realize her vision. With that said the International Black Business Moms Association was created. Though this is not a novel idea, it’s an opportunity to support and mentor African American business moms through products and services specifically created for their use.

What’s unique about IBBMA is our willingness to invest in both the education of and be a support system for every member. Now African American moms have the opportunity to win awards and recognitions as well as apply for grant funding and scholarships. The International Black Business Moms Association Inc. will give them the opportunity to meet socially and professionally and participate in local community projects; voice their opinions about products, services and companies that both impact their business and private life, as well as the lives of their family and friends. We will provide support and mentor each other and be able to find expert advice on issues of importance to the black mom.

LaTara Hamying is one of the women Ms. Anderson contacted with her vision and idea’s, and say’s “this is a much needed association, because professional black business moms have had no prior access to an association of this caliber in the past.”
