National Memorial Day Parade with a Pride of Lions Clubs
Over 200 Lions to march and collect 500 used glasses for recycling to disadvantaged.

Lions Clubs (http://www. lionsclubs. org) from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia will honoring World War II veterans and march in the 2010 National Memorial Day parade on May 31, 2:00pm in Washington DC.
While marching in the parade, Lions will collect used eyeglasses to recycle and donate to those in need. There will also be vehicles located at 7th & Constitution Ave, NW, Washington DC to collect eyeglasses.
“It is our goal to collect 500 eyeglasses at this year’s parade,” stated Lion’s District 24-A Governor Tony Reyes. “Additionally, we will be honoring World War II veterans who are Lions. The honorees will ride on a Lions Clubs float and will be wearing special caps to identify their veteran status.”
“Our many veteran Lions have served our country honorably and are today still committed to serving their communities. Through volunteerism, service and education on vision and hearing issues, Lions reach out to the public on how the Lions can help others,” Reyes continued.
“These Lions have proved themselves heroes for over half a century. Their dedication and civic mindedness is truly awe inspiring,” said Reyes.
