Jones and Bartlett Publishers is excited to announce the forthcoming Digital Filmmaker Series. The series will initially consist of eight titles scheduled to publish July through September 2010 and are all written by leading educators and professionals in the industry.

Designed for undergraduates enrolled in film-studies programs at colleges and universities, community colleges, and trade schools, the series presents a complete film-school curriculum. Focused on using inexpensive digital tools and techniques to produce serious projects, the Digital Filmmaker Series includes an introductory text providing an overview of the process and additional subject-area titles that feature screenwriting, audio production, lighting and directing, film editing, post-production, production management, and distribution.

”We’ve put together a practical, hands-on package of filmmaking titles that will introduce both amateurs and students to all of the concepts needed to produce quality films,” said Tim McEvoy, the Jones and Bartlett editor for the series.

The initial series titles
Digital Filmmaking: An Introduction  Audio Production and Post-Production  Film Editing Theory and Practice  Developing and Writing the Screen Story  Production Management  Visual Post-Production  Digital Media Distribution  Lighting, Cinematography and Directing

About the series editor:
Pete Shaner, lead author and series editor, is a Film/Video instructor at the UCLA Extension and curriculum developer on the school’s recently launched distance-learning project. A motion-picture writer-director, Shaner’s credits include several independent features, award-winning short subjects, and narrative films.
