Homeless Man Publishes Two Books and Signs Major Technical Contracts
In 2003, Gerard Spinks was uprooted and homeless after losing technical contracts in the Silicon Valley. He sold his home in the San Francisco Bay Area, relocated to Atlanta, lost all of his money and had nowhere to live. He has now published two books, signed on retailers including Amazon. com, Barnes and Nobles, Borders Bookstores, Karibu Books, and Marcus Books, and completed major technical contracts for the largest aluminum manufacturer in the world.

Gerard Dunbar Spinks was flying high in the dot com era. The African-American technologist, had cornered the technical B2B software integration market and made millions of dollars servicing the high tech industry. In the dot com bust, he lost all of his contracts, sold his million dollar home in the San Francisco Bay Area and relocated to Atlanta where he could not find contracts and lost all of his money.
One to never give up, Gerard Spinks continued fighting even without having a place to live. After losing all of his cash, Gerard decided to continue to diversify and write a book about his experiences catered to the hip hop industry of which he is a part of.
He wrote and published his first book "How To Be Rich, Nagga" and did all of the marketing on very little other than heart. The book caught fire with retailers and is now carried in Barnes and Nobles bookstores, Borders bookstores, Karibu bookstores, and Marcus bookstores.
As a prolific writer, he decided to continue the book series and wrote and recently released his second book entitled "The Baller's Guide to MAJOR Figure$" also targeted to the hip hop community.
Why hip hop? Why urban youth? Why black kids? Gerard Spinks is an African-American male who grew up in the inner city of Peoria, Illinois. He was raised with his mother on welfare and foodstamps and has made it successfully despite obstacles. Gerard says "I must educate and teach inner city youth how to make money and keep money for themselves and their families. Traditional education doesn't work. Blaming our youth doesn't work or inspire them either. Blaming hip hop doesn't work. I decided to get busy and write about the experiences to share my knowledge and help all of my fellow inner city peoples come up."
Gerard Spinks is a savvy business person who continues to run his Spinks Technologies, Inc. technical business, author books, publish books, and invest in multi-family real estate within the United States of America. He is writing his third book presently entitled "The Gth Condition: 2010" and is turning the "How To Be Rich, Nagga" book into an audio book and translating it into the Spanish language as well.
Gerard will be giving lectures at Atlanta based Universities beginning in the Fall of 2005 and is available for bookings and lectures for U. S. wide educational facilities and prisons. Gerard Spinks donates books to various prison facilities throughout the United States.
