Biblical Engineering Program Opens for Home Schoolers Worldwide

An Engineering program that incorporates Biblical worldview thinking and home education methods. Students launch technology based companies. Family university network supports student http://bartlettuniversity. com

(PRWEB) January 11, 2005

The Bartletts have opened a Biblical engineering program for home educated students. The courses within the program equip students to launch private technology based companies. General engineering and emphases in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, and electrical engineering are available at this time.

A student can accomplish this engineering program as a replacement to a traditional engineering program or selectively accomplish portions of the program to complement a traditional engineering program. Students complete much of the learning using distance technologies at home. There is a great need in the world today for engineers who think and work from a Christian worldview. These engineers are needed to design, prototype, develop, and manufacture goods that support family economies, as opposed to city-corporate-paper economies, which strain the traditional family.

The Biblical engineering program is more than the traditional hurdles of natural philosophy. This program includes learning the history and philosophy of science, engineering, mathematics, and technology from a Christian perspective. This is necessary for engineering entrepreneurs to discern the signs of the times (1 Chronicles 12:32) and choose the better, narrow, and Biblically responsible paths.

This program aims engineering talent toward producing family-friendly products, services, and businesses based upon individual gifts and Biblical vision. Through the study of original writings and the replication of some great discoveries and experiments, students think the great thoughts of world changing scientists and engineers. This fundamental and historic approach to engineering provides foundational perspectives and entrepreneurial inspiration, while conveying a love for learning from the masters, as a pattern for deep learning.

During the program, students customize their learning based on the written body of knowledge needed to accomplish their learning goals and measurable objectives, which are maintained using project management skills.

Every subject is to be understood and applied from a Christian perspective. Therefore, the students of the Biblical Engineering program are not only interested in the technical training but the gaining and creating of Biblical perspectives on subjects. Local apprenticeships and entrepreneurships complement the studies.

The family university network consists of Christian families implementing Biblical perspectives in higher education, like a home school support group for families choosing to home educate through college. At this time the network has 5 seminars, 50 courses, 24 programs, and 5 experiences in various stages of development. Homeschooled young adults and parents are welcome to consider participation as teachers and or students in the network. A pastor's page presents how pastors can develop local family university networks.

The Exemplar Student Challenge presents home school students with the strategy of assembling their own Biblical worldview and family friendly college curriculum. Course and curriculum formats vary from onsite to teleconferences to web-based. Besides the engineering programs, the network is developing Christian home college medical programs, hosting the Christian Medical Debates, and giving college credit for student support of political involvements. Besides the many offerings, individual families are encouraged by the network to begin their own multigenerational colleges and universities. In essence, we are taking Biblical dominion of higher education within the family and church. A free newsletter keeps families abreast.
