Get A Jump Start on Smart With We Sign Videos We Sign ÂFun Time and ÂPlay Time Available Direct-To-Video June 15, 2004 From Production Associates
Orange, CA (PRWEB) June 1, 2004
Turn young viewers into doers with Play Time and Fun Time, new titles from the highly popular, award-winning We Sign video series, which presents sing-along fun combining American Sign Language (ASL) with music and songs to create a uniquely entertaining, educational and interactive childrenÂs program.
Recommended for children, parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers, We Sign videos get kids off the sofa and moving to the music and songs while expressing themselves through ASL. Early learners become Âdoers as they sign and sing-along to the simple lyrics and fun visuals.
Approximately 30 minutes each, Play Time and Fun Time are produced by Production Associates and will be available on VHS June 15, 2004 for a suggested retail price of $14.95 each. Both received The Dove Family Approved Seal, indicating that the videos have been approved by the Foundation Review Board for family viewing. Play Time is recommended for ages 10 months through four years and Fun Time is perfect for ages two and older.
Moms and their children will love sharing time together with Play Time, where a diverse group of kids and moms sign along to a variety of new and classic songs. The popular childhood favorite, ÂWheels on the Bus, adds to the unique parent-bonding feel of the video as riders on the bus and viewers at home will sign and demonstrate Âup and down, Âround and round, and ÂI love you to the lively tune.
ÂStop, Look and Listen presents signs for childhood favorites - trucks, trains and cars, and everyday chores and activities like brushing teeth and washing hands are shown in ÂThis is the Way. ÂIf YouÂre Happy and You Know It highlights signs for emotions and ÂJumping gets everyone movin and groovin as they learn signs for walking, dancing and laughing.
Fun Time features young children in a colorful setting singing and signing along to lively new and traditional songs that toddlers and preschoolers can learn on their own or with friends. Young ones will learn signs for favorite animals in ÂOld MacDonald Had A Farm, family members in ÂMama, IÂm Reading, playground activities in ÂIÂm Gonna Play and musical instruments in ÂA Little Song in My Heart. Classics like ÂRow, Row, Row Your Boat and ÂOh Where, Oh Where are made more fun and challenging by additional motions to the music.
ÂBy combining easy-to-learn signs from ASL  the fourth most common language in the United States  with a variety of childrenÂs songs, the We Sign series provides physical, visual, verbal, musical, inter - and intrapersonal learning for even the youngest of viewers, says Michael Cash, company president and director of the We Sign video series. ÂStudies show toddlers and preschoolers who have learned to sign show significant gains in vocabulary and language skills, increased memory retention and IQ scores, and develop a real enthusiasm for learning.Â
There are eleven other titles in the We Sign videos series, which were developed primarily for and widely used within the educational market. ChildrenÂs Bookwatch called We Sign: Babies and Toddlers  superbly produced and presented  and School Library Journal called the video  a fun introduction to American Sign language. The series has won many awards from organizations that recognize the very best in childrenÂs educational and entertaining programs including awards from Parents Guide to ChildrenÂs Media, Dr. Toy, Dove Foundation, National Association of Parenting Publications, and Kids First! Two of the We Sign videos, ABC and Babies & Toddlers, also won two Telly Awards and two Crystal Awards of Distinction from the Communicator Awards.
Production Associates plans to release more new interactive We Sign videos in 2005.
