MTU Detroit Diesel Honored As One of Detroit's "Best and Brightest" for Second Year Running
Exemplary human resources practices, comprehensive benefits and positive employee survey results make MTU Detroit Diesel an employer-of-choice in Metro Detroit.
Detroit, MI (Vocus) September 11, 2009 -
MTU Detroit Diesel, the North American regional headquarters for MTU Friedrichshafen, a Tognum Group company, was again named as one of "Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" as defined by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). This is MTU Detroit Diesel's second consecutive year receiving this honor.
"In 2009's tough economic climate, this recognition as one of Metro Detroit's 'Best and Brightest Companies' means even more to us," says Patrick Kapusta, senior manager, Human Resources, MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc. "It's relatively easy to offer outstanding benefits, training and community involvement when times are good, but the true test of a company's commitment to its employees and human resources practices comes when times are more challenging."
This year's competition included over 1,100 employee nominations representing over 400 companies. Winning companies were determined by the results of independent research that evaluated each company in the following categories: communication; community initiatives; compensation and benefits; diversity and multiculturalism; employee education and development; employee engagement and commitment; recognition and retention; small business; recruitment and selection; and work-life balance.
An important element of this research was a confidential survey that was administered via email to randomly selected employees about their work environment.
"It is very encouraging to continue to receive high marks from our employees even during these tough times," says Kapusta. "While we have not been unaffected by the global economic crisis, we have been working hard to maintain nearly all of the benefits and programs that have made us an employer-of-choice in the area."
MTU Detroit Diesel is currently hiring for a select number of positions in its Detroit / Redford facility. For a complete list of career opportunities, please visit http://www. mtudetroitdieselcareers. com].
