Colinares, who is in her senior year, submitted a class project where she created a corporate identity campaign for her own clothing company. Her campaign included a business plan, logo, company and product brochures, signage, and packaging.
The ADDY(R) Awards honor creative excellence in nearly every area of advertising and are the only major national creative competition with three rigorous levels of judging--at the local, regional and national levels.
The Student ADDY Awards spotlight up-and-coming talent, recognizing and honoring outstanding creative work done by students of accredited U. S. educational institutions. All work submitted in the Student ADDY Competition is subject to the same rules and guidelines and submission requirements as the professional ADDY Competition. Entering students must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited U. S. college. Additionally, work must be created while students are still enrolled in school. Students cannot be employed in the advertising industry.
According to Dana Veirs, Colinares's graphic design instructor who encouraged her to enter the contest, "This is a quite an achievement for a student to accomplish on their own. We are extremely proud of Venessa and are excited to have her represent Collins College at this year's ADDY(R) Awards."
