Bob King Brings Clinical Massage Series to Cortiva Campuses

Bob King Brings Clinical Massage Series to Cortiva Campuses

Massage therapists coast to coast can learn from one of bodywork's best when Bob King brings his Clinical Massage Series to Cortiva campuses. With 35 years of experience, King is a massage educator, innovator and leader not to be missed.

Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) November 19, 2008

"Mr. King is presenting his program on a national level to spread his skills and knowledge of massage therapy and myofascial techniques," said Patrick Pheasant, Cortiva Institute Director of Continuing Education and Online Training.

The two-part Clinical Massage Series will focus on Clinical Approaches for Head, Neck and Upper Back Pain, and Clinical Approaches for Low Back Pain.

"Neck and back pain are the top two reasons clients seek clinical massage," said King, co-founder and past president of the Cortiva Chicago School of Massage Therapy. "This series will address that situation."

The two-day training includes advanced lessons in deep-tissue and trigger-point therapy, as well as therapeutic muscle stretching. The format is both elegant and easy to follow, with an emphasis on body mechanics, the role of fascia in postural distortion, and developing a profound sense of tissue engagement.

"I hope to provide some new and time-honored approaches in a safe, relaxed and even humorous environment." King said, "This is a training event where students can focus on their own creativity and intuition, rather than simply follow a recipe."

King's Clinical Massage Series includes self-care to benefit both massage therapist and client. The training will be hands-on heavy, with added help from manuals and articles -- penned by King.

The two-time American Massage Therapy Association National President has written a long list of bodywork articles, a book, bodywork curricula and has developed videos. In 2004, King won the Distinguished Service Award for Visionary Leadership from the Massage Therapy Foundation. He conducts training nationwide and continues to maintain an active practice.

King's Clinical Massage Series is 13 hours of continuing education, which is approved by NCB, at a cost of $250. The courses are geared toward recent massage-school graduates, as well as experienced practitioners. The tour begins Feb. 20 at Cortiva Institute - Tucson and is set to stop at five other Cortiva campuses across the country.
