High School Student With 4.0 GPA Abandons School System for Homeschooling
Star student chooses online study and home-schooling, graduates with flying colors, following in footsteps of her siblings.

When Stephanie Large was enrolled at her local public high school, she was what you might call a model student. Active in student government, sports and theater, she was a top notch example of what a kid in high school should be. But Stephanie felt something wasn’t quite right about the high school curriculum and the way it forced her to learn.
Feeling confined and restrained, and having to learn at the speed of her fellow students rather than the accelerated speed she was capable of, Stephanie shifted to private school, hoping the new environs would allow her to study at her own pace, and the topics that she felt she needed to study. Alas, it was just more of the same, and a more expensive more-of-the-same at that.
So Stephanie did what, just a few years ago, would have been nigh impossible. She elected to complete her high school education online. And she did so with a 4.0 grade point average, in the safety and comfort of her own home, and earning the honor of Citizens’ High School’s Graduate of the Month award in the process.
“We’re very proud of what Stephanie has managed to achieve through our program,” said Citizens’ High director Onna L. East. “She’s an incredibly bright young woman who knows what she wants in life, and sitting in an under-funded classroom trying to learn alongside other people who don’t share her aspirations for knowledge was simply unacceptable to her. We’re glad we could help her on her path to a high level college education, and lifelong success.”
