FireTower software is a security discovery tool for system health and cyber security. By adapting imagine LAN's mainline cyber attack detection engine, CXI, FireTower is able to deliver two major features: Real-time incident capturing and reporting of incoming software attempting to install an auto start persistent mechanism and automated incident data collection. FireTower not only serves as a post-mortem investigative tool for system health and cyber security, but also acts as an invisible "door chime" alerting users of new incidents as they occur in real-time. In addition to reporting new incidents, FireTower can also provide the name of the software causing the incident along with any associated metadata.
Traditional cyber security applications such as anti-virus and anti-spyware software utilize some form of signature-based detection. This method is an effective way of defending a system against known and discovered viruses, spyware and malware, but is essentially helpless against new and unknown attacks. Unlike these traditional tools, FireTower does not rely on signature-based detection. FireTower uses a unique software installation and execution behavior profiling technology to capture and signal both known exploits and zero-day attacks in real-time.
