New Magazine Emerges as Front Runner

Targeting the Urban Collegiate Community

CHICAGO ( July 16, 2003) A new publication aimed at the urban collegiate community throughout the U S will present its first issue September 1, 2003. VERGE MAGAZINE which is a free monthly direct mail publication produced, published and marketed by students, faculty and graduates from the Historically Black Colleges & Universities and various other higher learning institutions around the Country will premier with the “BACK TO SCHOOL FALL FASHION FORECAST” showcasing fall & winter “must haves” for the “geared up” college student from the top urban labels in the game.

The staff at VERGE Magazine has taken two years to thoroughly research the market and the industry to ensure that what they are presenting will encompass all that is REAL journalism while keeping in touch with the pulse of the most influential consumer group in the world. They've done their homework and now it's time to go to work. VERGE MAGAZINE is the new contender and September 1, 2003 the bell rings for round 1.

Verge Magazine will deliver news, information and entertainment pieces that are pertinent to their readers. TheyÂ’re reaching out to the mindset of the college student and giving honest, creative and thought provoking focus to those issues that are warranted. Music, Fashion, Business, Politics, Education and World Issues, in addition to campus news from the various Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUÂ’s) across the country will help keep Verge Magazine readers in touch with what's really going on in the world today and the growth and continued change of our future.

The Editor states “VERGE Magazine will offer the opportunity to showcase the various campuses with news, photos and event coverage. No other national publication presently offers anything even close to this. Students across the Country will be rushing to get every new issue to see if their picture or their campus made it to print. Or they will be checking out student’s pictures and/or submissions from other schools. We have hit just about every HBCU campus in America, we’ve polled, researched and marketed this publication. We’re very excited, our first issue hits the street September 1, 2003 and we have already acquired over 200, 000 subscriptions. Our magazine is free to our readers, we’re giving them what THEY want, the way THEY want it….”

The Magazine will feature celebrity interviews, music & movie reviews, NatÂ’l news stories, coverage of various campuses; their events and activities, profiles of students and faculty members and much more! VERGE Magazine is here and by the end of the 2003-04 school year, this publication will be the one magazine that the urban collegiate students will be talking about.
