These awards recognize businesses and their leaders in a variety of categories. Recipients were selected from a field of nominations from a number of companies of varying sizes. The winners in each category are:

Women of Distinction: Jane Pollack, Author, Speaker & Coach
The Woman of Distinction award recognizes one woman for her achievement in business and her dedication to helping other woman succeed. The recipient is chosen from a field of dozens of qualified nominations by the NEWBO Board. Jane's story of the struggle and triumph of pursuing her entrepreneurial dream and then her transformation to a coach helping other business owners achieve their dreams embodies all the values NEWBO holds dear.

Entrepreneur of the Year: Lisa Wexler, ELAINE Construction
The judges all agreed that Lisa was most qualified for the Entrepreneur of the Year award based on her business leadership in the construction industry, her environmental stewardship, and her community dedication.

Marketing Campaign of the Year: Mei Chau, Scribble Creative Group
The winning campaign, for Fresh Picks Café, showed innovation, creativity and measurable success. The judges also noted the importance of Scribble Creative Group's strong web design capabilities.

Community Involvement: Angela Rutzick, A-Type Design & Marketing
All judges enthusiastically agreed that Angela was the most worthy nominee for this award. They were impressed with how she consistently brings people together to help one another and how she embraces her clients into her humanitarian efforts, furthering both their businesses and the goals of the community organization.
