The Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association (IMBA) is holding its first annual Taste of Technology Conference on June 28-29, at the Chicago Hilton and Towers, 720 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, Illinois. The event, held across the street from the annual "Taste of Chicago" food festival, will be showcasing the latest technology tools and best practices for professionals in the mortgage, real estate, appraisal and title industries.
"We are excited to be presenting the best-of-breed technologies and practices to the real estate finance community", says Barbara Zajicek, Executive Director of the IMBA. "In order for the mortgage and related industries to remain productive in these competitive times, they need to know how to harness the latest technologies."
Although not affiliated with the food festival, the 'Taste of Technology' name represents the essence of the conference/marketplace. "The 'Taste' was created for mortgage, real estate and appraisal professionals who wish to sample an array of available technologies that can help them improve their productivity and creates more business relationships", says Mary Morstadt, Executive Chair of the IMBA Technology Committee.
Technology topics covered at the conference will include Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Internet marketing, lending fraud prevention, Virtual Office Web Sites (VOWs), automated valuation models and pipeline management solutions. A highlight of the conference will be the "Tech Toys" sessions, where attendees will observe live demonstrations of how simple it is to set up a wireless network in their office and use Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) devices to improve their productivity. Attendees will also hear insights from respected mortgage technology veterans such as Scott Cooley and Chip Cummings.
In addition to the educational sessions, attendees will be able to walk the floor of the Technology Marketplace, where companies will demonstrate their latest software and tools. The Marketplace will also be a focal point for mortgage, real estate, appraisal and title professionals to network and start new relationships. According to Zajicek, "We hope this conference will be a defining technology event for mortgage and real estate professionals in 2004".
