FortiusOne and InterAction Partner to Demonstrate Global NGO Activity and Impact
InterAction Calls on FortiusOne's GeoIQ to Map Worldwide NGO Efforts
Arlington, VA (Vocus) December 17, 2009
FortiusOne (http://www. fortiusone. com/), the leading provider of rich, dynamic Visual Intelligence, today announced a partnership with InterAction, the largest coalition of U. S.-based international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) focused on the world’s poor and most vulnerable people. InterAction chose FortiusOne's cutting edge solutions to highlight the breadth of the NGO community’s contributions to international development and humanitarian relief work.
InterAction (http://www. interaction. org/) is the nation’s leading advocate for international relief and development programs and the prime representative of U. S.-based international NGOs in forging alliances to further common objectives domestically and around the world. InterAction will be using FortiusOne's GeoIQ software platform to demonstrate NGO impact & accountability through their user-friendly web-based mapping interface (http://news. geocommons. com/interaction).
"With FortiusOne's GeoIQ platform we are bringing greater visibility into NGO activity and impact across the globe," said Samuel Worthington, President and CEO of InterAction. "We are working to promote a bold agenda to focus U. S. development and humanitarian assistance on improving the conditions of the world’s poor and most vulnerable. FortiusOne is enabling us to map the contributions and impact of our community worldwide in order to better coordinate organizations in the field, improve aid allocation, and facilitate greater communication and awareness."
FortiusOne's GeoIQ has dual applicability within InterAction's 193 member organizations. Internally, GeoIQ is utilized to visualize and analyze massive amounts of data from across the globe in order to improve decision making; such as where to invest scarce resources analysis. Users can visualize projects in various countries with related statistical data from GeoIQ's over 15,000 open source data sets from organizations such as UNDP and WHO. Externally, GeoIQ allows greater visibility among donors and the public through an interactive collaborative interface in which local governments, donors, and participating organizations can contribute. Users can easily create maps to be embedded in their organization’s website, to include in annual reports, to create awareness for fundraising or to use in the development of educational materials. “FortiusOne's partnership with InterAction perfectly demonstrates the core value of GeoIQ," said Sean Gorman, CEO and Founder of FortiusOne. “GeoIQ's ability to manage, analyze and visualize large amounts of disparate data, enables InterAction's 193 member organizations to vastly increase the visibility of their work and contributions as well as enable them to spotlight best practices and learning from the field."
As part of FortiusOne's partnership with InterAction, GeoIQ will also be integrated into National Geographic’s Global Action Atlas.
