2006 National University Telecommunications Network Event To Be Hosted By Capella University

Conference to focus on ensuring quality in distance learning.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 7, 2006

Capella University (http://www. capella. edu), an accredited* online university (http://www. capella. edu/online_university. aspx), will host the National University Telecommunications Network 2006 annual event, June 10-12, in Minneapolis. This year’s theme focuses on managing and maintaining quality in all aspects of distance learning programs and operations.

The event’s focus is particularly relevant because a growing majority of colleges and universities now offer distance learning degree programs, certificate programs or courses, said Kurt Linberg, PhD, dean of the School of Business and Technology (http://www. capella. edu/schools_programs/business_technology/business_technology_index. aspx) at Capella and a member of the National University Telecommunications Network advisory board. The Network’s event provides an important forum for sharing strategies and best practices to enhance distance learning, he said.

The meeting features presentations on the effectiveness of learning, student and faculty satisfaction, cost effectiveness, partnerships, course design and other key topics.

The National University Telecommunications Network is a network of professionals advancing higher education through technology and distance learning (http://www. capella. edu/distance_learning. aspx). This year’s event, which has quickly reached capacity in previous years, is presented in cooperation with the University Continuing Education Association and the Sloan Consortium.

The event is expected to draw distance learning administrators and practitioners, continuing education and higher education directors, college and university faculty, academic affairs personnel, distance learning faculty and staff, business and higher education partners, and military education and training personnel.
