Record Number of Colleges to Participate in CollegeWeekLive

Record Number of Colleges to Participate in CollegeWeekLive

Over 200 colleges (from US, Canada, Europe and Australia) will participate in the world's largest virtual college fair over the Web: November 12-13, 2008.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 25, 2008

CollegeWeekLive (http://www. collegeweeklive. com (http://www. collegeweeklive. com)) announced today that over 150 colleges and universities from around the world have already committed to participating in its November event, a full eight weeks prior to the event. The announcement was made at NACAC 2008, the 64th annual conference of the National Association for College Admission Counseling taking place this week in Seattle.

With 150 schools signed up already, CollegeWeekLive anticipates that over 200 schools will exhibit at the event, roughly double the number of schools who participated in its spring show. With close to 20,000 students and parents expected to attend, CollegeWeekLive is the largest virtual college fair -- allowing students, college representatives, and admissions experts to interact with one another in a unique format.

"Beyond our seminars from admissions experts, over 50 student video chats, career panels, and 200+ college booths, we are expanding CollegeWeekLive in many exciting ways this fall -- adding a new parents panel, a session on college rankings, inspirational speakers, and even a live appearance from Iliza Shlesinger, winner of NBC-TV's Last Comic Standing -- to add a bit of humor to the stress-filled process of college admissions," said Robert Rosenbloom, CEO of CollegeWeekLive. "With more colleges and educational sessions, we expect to go well beyond last spring's attendance record of 11,000 attendees."

Described as "The Green College Road Trip," and featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, Seventeen, and USA Today, CollegeWeekLive's uniquely immersive online format enables university admissions officers and financial aid officers to experience all of the benefits of a physical fair -- interacting with students and parents -- without travel and leaving no carbon footprint. At the same time, faced with rising fuel costs, students and parents can speak live with colleges across the US and internationally without having to incur the expense in money and time of long-distance travel.

CollegeWeekLive: An Efficient Recruiting Tool for Diverse Student Body

"We are excited to be taking part in CollegeWeekLive once again," said Nikki Chun, Division of Enrollment Management, of The University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida (www. miami. edu). "The online college fair gives us an opportunity to interact with students from across the globe and easily connect admission counselors, alumni and current students with our prospective students."

200+ Participating Colleges Expected

CollegeWeekLive Fall 2008 will showcase 200+ universities and colleges, across a wide range of higher education options for college-bound students: including 4-year and 2-year public and private universities and colleges, as well as online-only schools.

From Australia to the United States, Alaska to the United Kingdom -- more than 150 institutions around the world -- have already have already signed up to exhibit at CollegeWeekLive.
