Woburn, MA (PRWEB) May 23, 2010

BMEGateway, the national leader in independent medical evaluation, peer/medical review and cost containment services was very pleased with the success of their Insurance Symposium held on May 18, 2010 at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA. In attendance were top insurance executives, claims handlers and nurse case managers from around New England and New York.

Keynote speaker Vincent Armentano, Esq., Senior Vice President of Business Insurance Claims at Travelers was the keynote speaker. He addressed the audience on the current state of the economy and the possible implications National Healthcare Reform may have on the Workers Compensation system. The topic was well received and set the tone of the conference.

“Vinny’s speech on healthcare was right on point and gave people a focused view of an often mentioned, frequently debated, yet still unclear national issue that touches every American. His presentation really set the bar at a high level for our doctors to follow,” stated John C. Addonizio, CEO of BMEGateway.

Patrick J. Connolly, M. D., a noted orthopedic surgeon and spine specialist, presented on the topic of common spine disorders, specifically focusing on back pain. “Dr. Connolly’s presentation focused on the claims person’s number one medical situation. A little knowledge was picked up by even the most seasoned claims veteran.”

Former Red Sox team physician William Morgan, M. D. addressed the audience on “The Injury, Surgery and Successful Recovery; the Bloody Sock.” Dr. Morgan, who performed the ankle procedure on Curt Schilling, in 2004 that catapulted the Red Sox to win the World Championship, showed actual footage from inside the operating room during his presentation, and he took the audience through the whole exciting process, from the decision to perform the surgery all the way through the outcome.

“The reviews were amazing. You couldn’t ask for a better panel of speakers. This was another chance for BMEGateway to give a symposium to our loyal client base that was enjoyable and memorable on our 20th anniversary. Our commitment to quality comes through loud and clear on days like this.”
