The Steinberg Group Architects Names Raul A. Yanez Director Of Operations

Raúl A. Yáñez, AIA, CSI, a 28-year veteran of the architectural industry, has joined The Steinberg Group Architects, a California-based architectural, planning and design firm, as director of operations. Yáñez is responsible for managing operations, professional resources/recruitment, risk, contracts and standards.

Yáñez is an industry expert in implementing successful management, construction contract administration and risk management strategies. His diverse background includes experience in commercial, public and residential projects.

Prior to joining The Steinberg Group Architects, Yáñez was a principal and studio manager for RMW’s largest office in San Francisco. There he was responsible for managing operations, staff recruitment and development, resource and risk management.

Yáñez has served in board-level positions for the San Francisco Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), San Francisco Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and the Design Professional Risk Management Group. In addition, he has been a participant of the Bay Area Risk Management Forum.

Yáñez has conducted speaking engagements, interviews and received various honors and awards from professional organizations for his outstanding contributions to the industry. These include participation in a DPIC liability education project management video and citations for outstanding efforts from the San Francisco Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the San Francisco Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and the San Francisco Chapter of the Society of Architectural Administrators. In addition, he was involved in the publication of the internationally known manual, the Construction Inspection Manual as well as several firm guidelines for quality assurance, contracts and construction contract administration.

Yáñez received his bachelorÂ’s degree in architecture from Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz., in 1976.
