One Way 2 Play Is Drug Free - The Sport Mavericks Offer a World-Wide Challenge to Bring Integrity Back to Sports and Academics

On Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 8:00p. m.EST (www. voiceamerica. com), "Sport Mavericks" hosts, Ida Muorie and Elleanor Starks, broadcasting on Internet Radio Station (voiceamerica. com), welcomes the "One Way 2 Play - Drug Free" spokesperson Steve Fitzhugh, former Denver Broncos to the show and Dan Britton, Senior Vice President of the Fellowship of Christain Athletes (FCA) to talk about the drug abuse problems among athletes and how parents can recognize the early signs and prevent a substance abuse problem.

Steve Fitzhugh, former Denver Bronco has seen it all and will give a reality check to young athletes, who short circuit their sport career when they use "drugs for glory." Fitzhugh's will reveal to parents the ugly truth that they don't want to hear, the reasons "why so many student-athletes are forced into drug and alcohol use before college." Dan Britton a four-year starter with the Professional Indoor Lacross League will join Steve and discuss his ministry program that sponsors the One-Way 2 Play-Drug Free! project, and trains coaches and athletes to develop sportsrelated ministries.

"Sports Mavericks" brings education and athleticism together to level the playing field in sports by taking sports off the kitchen table and into the boardrooms and war rooms of sport organizations. The show presents real life experiences and solutions that educate parents and athletes, and help them navigate through the challenges of playing sports and going professional. Host/Creator, Ida R. Muorie, is an Author, Spokesperson, Sport Advocate, National Consultants, and former Chaplain and Education Director of the university of Florida Gator Parents Association (GPA). She is a Life Skill Speaker that conduct workshops for parents and student-athletes through the Pro-Ready Impact Program. TM Muorie also is the creator and principle writer of "Sport Mavericks."

Co-Host, Elleanor Starks is the mother of Max Starks (2004 Pittsburgh Steeler Rookie and Former Florida Gator) and former President of the Gator Parent Association. Under Starks' leadership, Muorie and Starks revamped the GPA as viable force for parents of athletes. She also consulted parents under the GPA standard at the University of Michigan and Wake Forest University.
