The Advanced Vehicle Research Center (AVRC) has added several new technologies to the current offerings in alternative fuel and infrastructure for advanced vehicles. The AVRC is a private for-profit corporation that promotes alternative fuel research and technology commercialization, with a special focus on transportation energy research and development.
The AVRC works with companies that have commercially viable technology and products that can support our nation's need to achieve energy independence through the electrification and conversion of the 'legacy' vehicles. We provide marketing assistance, hands-on installation services, and serve as a business development resource our technology partners. Working with the leading universities of the Southeast region, AVRC also provides education and outreach programs for training in alternative fuel technologies.
During the past two years, AVRC has worked with Hymotion/A123Systems providing services to commercial and governmental fleets with the Hymotion PHEV system for the Toyota Prius. During this time it was recognized that, for Electric Vehicles to become mainstream, they must be just as easy to use, and to fuel, as their gasoline counterparts. This means that electric vehicle charging stations must be conveniently available to electric vehicle owners wherever they work and recreate, and that this infrastructure should be implemented before the adoption of electric vehicles begins to hit full stride. The AVRC investigated the electric charging station market and saw that Coulomb Technologies / NovaCharge to be the system of choice. AVRC has entered into a business development agreement to market, sale, and service their charging system to complement the existing portfolio of AVRC offerings.
"NovaCharge is committed to creating the highest quality and best trained partner network in the EV Infrastructure industry," said Helda Rodriguez, President, NovaCharge, LLC, "We only recruit partners who are passionate about customers and who are committed to excellence. Dick Dell, president of AVRC, has a track record of demonstrated success and commitment to customer quality, and we are very proud to have him as a part of our growing partner network."
