Ithaca, New York (PRWEB) November 19, 2005

Enroll in the new Part-time Program at the Finger Lakes School of Massage (FLSM) and enhance your career as well as change your life. Scheduled to offer its first class in March of 2006, the Part-time Program is designed for people who want to continue working yet are seeking a way to expand their current skills in the health professions or embark on a new and exciting career in the growing massage industry.

“The Part-time Program takes place over a 17 month period, meeting 3 weekends a month with one weekend off,” states Shirley Adams, long-time staff member and current Part-time Program Director. “This program provides the same level of hours and professional curriculum that our 6 month intensive 1000 hour program offers while allowing students to resume their work lives during the week. Beyond an excellent education that provides our students with a path to successful careers in diverse fields, FLSM also offers them a lifestyle transformation,” adds Adams.

Upon successful completion of the Part-time Program, students receive New York State Certification in therapeutic massage and become eligible to take the New York State Licensing exam. FLSM welcomes students of all backgrounds, ages, and learning styles. “We offer a unique, supportive, student-centered educational environment for students to grow as professional healers and caregivers while embarking on their own personal journey of health enhancement and self discovery,” offers Adams. Prospective students are invited to visit the school to participate in a tour or an Introduction to Massage Workshop and experience for themselves the school’s individualized, holistic educational approach. The school also employs an innovative teaching method called PTP, or Personal Thinking Patterns, developed by Dawna Markova and Annie Powells, to help students learn in ways that best suit them individually.

Up to three merit scholarships of $2000 each will be awarded based on an essay application process to eligible accepted students. FLSM’s admission staff is happy to discuss the various career training loans, government assistance and the installment payment plan available to assist candidates for admission. The school also maintains a weekend accommodations resource list online.

FLSM’s Part-time Program has much to offer individuals considering a new career, exploring career enhancement, or seeking a lifestyle transformation. The school also offers a community massage clinic and a newly renovated store, both open to the public. The school store is also preparing to launch an online store, offering aromatherapy oils and other unique massage and holistic healing-related products. More information about the school and an application for admission can be obtained online at www. flsm. com or by calling 272-9024.
