Chasing the 2012 Summer Games

Chasing the 2012 Summer Games

Who will triumph in the most anticipated host city selection process of all time?

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) June 8, 2005

The race to secure the bid for the Summer Games of 2012 is the topic of Chetan Dave's latest book "The 2012 Bid: Five Cities Chasing the Summer Games" (published by Authorhouse, June 2005, now available through http://ultimatewriter. com (http://ultimatewriter. com) or http://chetandave. com (http://chetandave. com) and will be available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble in July).

More than any impending Summer Games, the 2012 bid has garnered substantial media and public attention well before the host city was due to be decided. This book condenses what is a mountain of numbers and planning documents diligently presented by each candidate city into information that is slightly simpler to understand for outsiders to give the reader a clearer view into the rather exclusive and often unforgiving world of planning to host the Summer Games.

Dave takes a break from his entertaining novels to bring us inside the didactic plans presented by the organizing committees of Madrid, Moscow, Paris, London, and New York in an easy-to-read yet educational way that allows the reader to compare and contrast each cityÂ’s' proposal on a topic by topic basis. Everything from finances, venue planning, and public opinion to transport infrastructure, meteorological data and security arrangements is carefully summarized for each of the five competing cities. The book also contains a passage describing a collection of past candidate cities - those who won the bid as well as those who were left on the outside looking in.

"The 2012 Bid" is filled with informative facts, in depth figures, and a look at the structure of organizing committees that most of the general public rarely finds time to study. The book is written to provide the bid data for all five cities in a quick and easily understandable manner. It enlightens readers to the fact that what is seen on television during The Games is the final product of years of meticulous planning by the host committee.
