Boston, (PRWEB) August 25, 2001

The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, Inc. is co-sponsoring a new series of retreats aimed at helping professional women deal with balancing work-life issues. With more women entering the workforce and rising to leadership positions while continuing to manage daily household and family tasks, life can sometimes be overwhelming.

There will be two weekend retreats; the first on Martha’s Vineyard October 14 through 16, 2001 and an “alumni” retreat on Jekyll Island, Georgia September 30 through October 2, 2001. Neuroscientist Donna-Christine McGuire will lead all the events; teaching women the skills and balance needed to live healthy, satisfying lives is her special interest and passion. With 12 years experience as a clinician working with seriously ill patients, she observed the direct linkage between the health, success and quality of life her patients experienced at home and work. Through the years, she has earned the recognition as an authority on effective methods for achieving the highest levels of excellence and well being.

The retreats will introduce information and skills needed to address tough workplace issues, enhance the bottom line and improve quality of life – professionally and personally. “Trying to be a great professional, terrific parent, loving mate, trusted friend, pillar of the community all at the same time makes for big stress and can undermine women’s chances for success and personal well-being” remarked Donna-Christine.

More information on these retreats is available on the Continuing Education portion of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public AccountantsÂ’ Web site, http://www. mscpaonline. org/cpe/retreat. htm (http://www. mscpaonline. org/cpe/retreat. htm).

The MSCPA is the state professional association of certified public accountants, representing over 8,500 members in public accounting practice, industry and business, government and education. The Society works to develop and maintain high professional standards and offers a wide array of legislative, technical and referral services to its members.
