Dynamic Mother/Daughter Duo rally to support Victims of Domestic Violence.
The 2nd annual, "Femmes In Harmony" benefit concert will take place April 12 @ Southgate House, Newport Ky. Featuring speaker Barbara Doll (the Women's Connection) and a performance by The Locals, (Yvonne Doll, her daughter's band)

On Sat April 12, 2003 The Southgate House (Newport Ky) will host the second annual “Femmes in Harmony” benefit for Victims of Domestic Violence. The benefit show will feature performances by national and regional bands as well as speakers from various support groups for this cause. One of bands donating it’s talents to the night will be The Locals are a Chicago-based, original, jangle-rock band fronted by Cincinati native, Yvonne Doll.
YvonneÂ’s mom, Barbara Doll will be speaking on behalf of The WomenÂ’s Connection at the event.
The Women's Connection is a neighborhood center, located in Price Hill. The priorities of the center are to be a welcoming place, to connect women and children with available resources, to provide educational and personal growth opportunities that respond to community needs, and to initiate and promote collaborative programs and services within the community. The Women's Connection offers is a weekly psycho-educational support group for women survivors of domestic violence.
This group provides resources as well as emotional support to women facing issues of domestic violence and abuse. Barbara Doll has been a volunteer therapist for the WomenÂ’s Connection since it opened itÂ’s doors 5 years ago and facilitates a group at the center, she is also a Licensed Independent Social Worker and a professional Mediator, working with Partners In Mediation (www. PartnersInMediation. com) . Barbara (admittedly a bit biased) is a huge fan of The LocalsÂ’ music and even uses some of their tunes in her group sessions.
The Locals are building quite a reputation for their over-the-top energetic stage presence. Their second release “Baby Buddhas and LIttle Einsteins” has had over 50,000 downloads since it’s Nov 2002 release Their new release is available via their website at www. LocalsRock. com
