Subscribers to International Homeschooling Magazine Receive More Than a Good Read

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, LLC, recently announced their “Spring Bouquet of Gifts” for new subscribers featuring free gifts from 19 education and family-focused companies.

Cool, California (PRWEB) July 11, 2005

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine recently offered homeschool families a way to stretch their spring curriculum budgets. New subscribers receive not only a two-year subscription to the magazine but also cards redeemable for free products and samples, with an estimated retail value of almost $300.00.

Only 5,000 new subscribers will be able to participate in the spring program, which features gifts such as free software from Homeway Press and a unit study from Lasting Lessons. Publishing house Barker Creek is offering participants a book from the award-winning Draw Write Now series while TEACH Magazine provided respondents with a free six month subscription. BobÂ’s Red Mill has even joined in, offering not only a package of their 5-Grain cereal but educational materials about whole grains.

According to Gena Suarez, publisher of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, the company started out with 5,000 packages but was swiftly down to fewer than 1,500 by the end of June. “They are going fast,” she says. “It’s right about $300 in free curriculum and people are spreading the word online and through friends.”

Past issues of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine have focused on the Renaissance period and the Civil War era. Home education methods such as unit studies, Classical education and the teachings of Charlotte Mason have been featured. Special sections devoted to homeschool and special education conventions and field trip suggestions offer readers resources and options for travel, while an upcoming “Resource Room” expansion will offer families with special needs students food for thought.
