NXTevent Hits a Home Run For NAFCU (National Association of Federal Credit Unions)

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions hit a home run on their annual conference in Boston by bringing 1800+ of their attendees into historic Fenway Park for the Red Sox vs. the New York Yankees game during their annual conference. NAFCU, whoÂ’s membership consists of the nation's more innovative and dynamic federal credit unions, chose NXTevent as their event and destination management resource for the July 2003 Annual Conference.

From the Founder and President, Allyson O’Connor, “The event concept had great synergy with NAFCU’s objectives. NAFCU had concerns regarding membership and registration, particularly in the Northeast. We proposed an event marketing strategy that would contribute to the overall conference experience in Boston as well as drive attendance out of the Northeast region. What could be more perfect than experiencing a sell out game amongst the greatest rivalry in baseball?”

”Whenever a group departs from its usual special event, there are naysayers who question the wisdom of doing something totally different from the norm. NXTevent did a great deal to assist in quieting the fears of those individuals, and we are grateful for their careful planning and support” says Sara Romanick, Director of Education, Conferences and Meeting at NAFCU.

The challenges for the evening required precision-like advance planning by NXTevent in navigating 1800+ attendees into the heart of Fenway along the tightly parked one-way Ipswich Street during a high foot and car traffic period. Working with the Boston Police Department and the transportation company, NXTevent choreographed coach departures from the three main hotels for a pre-game tailgate party at JillianÂ’s of Boston where they were greeted by interactive entertainers including Pat Patriot, a Nomar look alike and live baseball playing.

As a complete surprise to the NAFCU community, NAFCU President/CEO, Fred R. Becker, was lead onto the playing field for the televised Opening Ceremonies and National Anthem. As the game went into play, NAFCU members received a series of welcome messages from Fenway on the Game Board.

Dedicated to the art of event, meeting & destination management in Boston & New England, NXTevent is global in scope yet dedicated in regional resourcefulness.
