The ultimate proof of the success of this program is in the reaction of the students,¨ said Luciano Corazza, Director of Academic Connection. ¡§In our first year of the program, fully 87% of the students indicated in their class surveys that they were satisfied with their Academic Connections experience This is both encouraging, and an indication that were are on the right path.¨

Students enroll in only one intensive three-week course, and attend classes during the day. The classroom activities are designed to introduce high school students to the university learning environment, and teach them to use the university's resources in their studies and class projects.

During their 3-week stay, all students in the program will live on campus with assigned Residential Program Assistants. When not in the classroom, they are offered an array of activities to choose from, including guest lectures, arts and crafts, music, sports, and special group events. Activities are planned during the afternoon, early evenings, and weekends, allowing students to explore aspects of college life in a safe and supportive environment.

The program is open to students in 9th -12th grade who have attained a G. P.A. of 3.3 or better. Total fees for the three week program are $2,450, plus a $50 application fee. Fees include tuition, room and 21 meals a week from the university¡¦s dining services.
