BeerAdvocate Reaches 60,000 Site Members

BeerAdvocate becomes the largest US Beer Community, 2nd in the world.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 12, 2006

As of March 10th, 2006, BeerAdvocate has become the largest US beer community both on-line and in real-life. The popular on-line beer resource (http://beeradvocate. com (http://beeradvocate. com)) reached a milestone of 60,000+ registered members worldwide, making it second to the UK-based Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) with 75,000 members.

"We're in absolute awe," stated BeerAdvocate Co-Founder, Todd Alstrom. Brother and Co-Founder, Jason Alstrom added, "When we started back in 1996, we had no idea that we'd literally become a major voice for the better beer drinkers of the world. We've become a household name with beer drinkers." They estimate reaching 100,000 by the end of summer 2006.

Though users can currently learn more about appreciating beer, review beers, chat in forums, and search for beers and locations around the world, The Alstrom Bros plan on empowering site users with future projects that will focus on beer education, beer respect, and calling for change as needed. To this Todd commented, "We want brewers to know that we're not a bunch of nerds with keyboard opinions, but a very diverse, passionate, and active community that's advocating for beer and the industry's overall success. We're BeerAdvocates, and we challenge all facets of the beer industry to join us in elevating beer to its rightful place."

BeerAdvocate. com accepts no advertising and is self-funded by The Alstrom Bros and the generous donations of site users, while membership is free.
