Learning courses (the Learn2 brand) to postal employees. About 180,000 postal employees have direct access to desktop or laptop computers and thousands more can complete courses on local training center computers.

NCED is a corporate business management and technology school located on a 62-acre campus in Norman, Oklahoma. This self-contained, living-and-learning facility provides job skill and information training to postal employees. The Center also offers a wide range of conference and training services to other government agencies, as well as to private sector businesses from across the nation.

“We use a blended approach to learning, including both hands-on and e-learning techniques,” says Steve Mosier, NCED manager. “Learn. com’s course content will help us meet many goals, including providing at least 20 hours of training a year to administrative and management employees and at least eight hours of training a year to union employees.”

The Learn. com courses fall into three main libraries. The Office Plus Library focuses on desktop applications such as Word, Excel and several operating systems. The Technology Plus library includes programming courses, plus courses related to Information Technology certifications such as Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft and CompTIA. Finally, the Professional Development Library provides courses oriented to the workplace. Topics include business writing, ethics, communication, management and leadership.

Learn. comÂ’s unique user identifications will also allow NCED to add e-learning to the value-added services it currently offers to groups who come to the Center.
