SEA Wins Management and Integration Contract

SEA Wins Management and Integration Contract

(PRWEB) November 10, 2000

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) – Science & Engineering Associates, Inc. (SEA) has been awarded the Information Technology Center Integration Project Management and Integration (M&I) contract valued at approximately $850 million. The award was made to SEA’s wholly-owned subsidiary SEA Information Services, Inc. using SEA’s General Services Administration Schedule 70 Information Technology contract. It will be incrementally funded over a five-year period. The contract is with the U. S. Navy Information Technology Center, in New Orleans Louisiana and will be administered by GSA’s Federal Technology Service.

SEA was the incumbent contractor providing M&I activities on the Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System (DIMHRS) to the ITC. SEA has supported DIMHRS and related programs since 1998. The previous SEA contracts were valued at approximately $50 million.

Under its expanded role, SEA will provide overall M&I support to the ITC for the development of new information systems.

“This is a great day for e-business and SEA,” said Bobby Savoie, President of SEA. “We are excited about working with the Navy’s ITC to implement and execute their vision to support the 21st century warfighter.” He explained that “this contract will utilize commercial e-business practices to improve military readiness and reduce costs by improving military human resource practices, eliminating duplication between military information systems, and reducing the associated administrative infrastructure. The result will be substantial savings that can be used to finance modernization needed to support U. S. national security objectives.”

The SEA contract team is comprised of twenty-three subcontractors including: CACI, SAIC, SEMA and thirteen Louisiana based firms along with educational and non-profit institutions including California State University at San Bernadino, the Louisiana Center for Manufacturing Sciences, and the University of New Orleans. The core work will continue to be performed at the ITC facility in New Orleans, LA, but is already expanding to other locations with Washington D. C. being the first addition.

SEA is a nationally recognized, employee-owned company with a diverse base of clients that includes both government and commercial industry. SEA provides solutions including integration and support services, expert web-based computer system development, engineering and environmental services, and management and technical support services. SEAÂ’s technological business is actively engaged in the development and commercialization of directed energy, hyperspectral imaging, medical, security, and environmental technologies.
