Flatwater Shakespeare Festival Announces Season 2006, "Fire and Fun"

Flatwater Shakespeare Company presents Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors and Romeo and Juliet. Subscriptions are now on sale.

Crete, NE (PRWEB) January 30, 2006

The Flatwater Shakespeare Company, under the artistic direction of Bob Hall, is pleased to announce its schedule for 2006, a “Season of Fun and Fire.”

"Macbeth" will be presented in late March 2006 at the Haymarket Theatre, 8th and Q Streets. This classic tragedy of political ambition gone awry will feature Lincoln favorites George Hansen and Melissa Marie Lewis.

"The Comedy of Errors" will take the stage at Wyuka’s open-air Swan Theatre in June 2006. The Bard once again makes playful fun with mistaken identity in this madcap comedy as two sets of identical twins are reunited after a long separation.

Flatwater will round out its season with the timeless tale of star-crossed lovers, "Romeo and Juliet," again at the Swan Theatre, in September 2006.

Flatwater Shakespeare Company launched itself in 2005 with critically acclaimed productions of Measure For Measure and Henry V.

The company is led by Bob Hall, well-known in Lincoln for his masterful direction of Shakespearean productions for a number of years. Hall and Stephen Buhler, the company’s Education Director, created the non-profit Flatwater Shakespeare Company “to inspire and inform audiences and students of the Eastern Nebraska and Midwest regional area through theatre productions of the highest quality, based in the works of Shakespeare and underscored by a creative educational wing.”

Flatwater also will offer an educational program for youth in conjunction with at least one of its 2006 productions. Other plans include festival activities for the summer and fall productions, a possible touring program, and other events designed to underscore the cultural and entertainment value that Flatwater Shakespeare Company brings to Lincoln and surrounding communities.

Season subscriptions, consisting of one ticket to each of the three productions, prices for adults are available for only $45, Students and Seniors for $36. To purchase subscriptions, call (402) 484-7640.
