Riverdale, NY (PRWEB) April 21, 2004 -

– The New York City Tea Society has announced its affiliation with the Morris County Historical Society (MCHS), Morristown, NJ. Tea Society members, dressed in nineteenth and early twentieth century attire, will assist at various functions at the Morris County Historical Society's headquarters, Acorn Hall.

NYC Tea Society members will be in attendance at upcoming Acorn Hall events, including its first annual Victorian Weekend on May 1 and 2, educational programs focusing on early dressmaking and millinery techniques, and Holly Walk, a holiday open house on December 3-5.

"The costumed re-enactors of the Tea Society really make history come alive for the public. Living history programs make our common cultural past accessible to the audience in way that complements our ongoing museum exhibits," said Bonnie-Lynn Nadzeika, director of the Morris Country Historical Society.

"The New York City Tea Society is singularly able to help historical, cultural, and educational organizations increase the impact they have in their communities," said Shenlei Winkler, executive director of the New York City Tea Society. "Having the membership of the Tea Society at these functions to inform and teach extends these institutions' limited budgets and increases the quality of their programs. Here, they also enhance the nineteenth century atmosphere so beautifully preserved in Acorn Hall."
