YWiB Mentorship Programs Support New Generation of Business Leaders
Young Women in Business (YWiB), a non-for-profit society that promotes development of young women in Western Canada, has launched a new mentorship program to offer the new generation of female business leaders a real-life coaching experience. Supporting Our University Leaders (SOUL) Mentorship Program is designed for the society's members studying at local universities. "The SFU chapter connects SFU's emerging female leaders with SFU alumni who are highly regarded professionals from diverse fields and industries," explains Stephanie Wong, President of the YWiB at SFU.

Young Women in Business (YWiB), a non-for-profit society that promotes development of young women in Western Canada to reach their fullest personal and professional potential, has commenced its comprehensive mentorship sessions to offer the new generation of female business leaders a real-life coaching experience in the areas of business, information technology, human resources, finance and marketing. YWiB's academic chapters at University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) serve the needs of young women who are still in school, teaching them valuable skills and sharing invaluable experiences through workshops, panel sessions & other events.
Stephanie Wong, President of YWiB at SFU shared that mentorship sessions aim to help women prepare for the challenges of the corporate world. "YWiB presents young women with the resources they need to achieve success on their own terms," noted Wong. "Our members will receive a facilitated professional growth through one-on-one time with their mentor."
YWiB's mentors are connoisseurs of their profession and the most respected business leaders. Kunny Ma, VP Mentor Relations for YWiB at SFU, said their goal for 2010 is to build on the foundation the society has already instituted.
