Springboard's pre-purchase education class is approved by HUD www. hud. gov, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac. Upon completing the First-Time Homebuyer class, participants will receive a certificate of achievement. The certificate meets the requirement of many mortgage lenders and eligibility requirements for down payment assistance, closing cost assistance and affordable homebuyer programs.

Springboard is pleased to announce the expansion of their First Time Homebuyer seminar to the Las Vegas community. Headquartered in Riverside, California, Springboard has branch offices in Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada. Springboard is a nonprofit consumer credit counseling and comprehensive housing counseling agency that works to strengthen communities and improve the lives of consumers by offering services that promote financial literacy, homeownership and a healthy economy.

“We’re very pleased to offer first time homebuyer education to the Las Vegas community,” said Melinda Opperman Springboard’s senior vice president of community outreach and industry relations. “As we continue to weather the worst housing crisis in 60 years, studies indicate that consumers who receive pre-purchase education are less likely to default on their loan,” said Opperman.
