Sesame Street Muppets Poised to Pose at JCPenney Portraits This Summer
Say "cheeeeeeeeeeese" and picture yourself on Sesame Street! Beginning July 15th in over 450 JCPenney Portraits locations, children can create memories that last a lifetime by posing on the Sesame Street stoop with a plush of the beloved Elmo, a plush of his new friend and fairy-in-training Abby Cadabby (coming in August), or by choosing from a variety of other Sesame Street portrait options such as portrait borders featuring Sesame Street images and phrases that families know and love. While their parents are perusing through the variety of portrait products, children in over 260 studios can enjoy a thirty-minute play date with their favorite furry and feathered friends by watching a Sesame Street DVD made just for JCPenney Portraits.

"We are so excited that, for the first time in decades, fans of Sesame Street will have an opportunity to take professional portraits with their favorite characters," said Maura Regan, Vice President and General Manager of Global Licensing, Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organization behind Sesame Street. "We are thrilled to build upon our relationship with JCPenney, one of America's most well-known department stores, and to give children even more reasons to smile and laugh."
"There is nothing like the smile of a child when they watch their favorite Sesame Street characters, and we are extremely excited to capture a smile for families to remember always," said Christine Schraml, National Promotions Manager, Lifetouch Portrait Studios Inc., which owns and operates JCPenney Portraits. "If a picture is worth a thousand words, then our partnership with Sesame Workshop is picture perfect. We'll take the portrait while Sesame Street teaches children the words to describe it."
Parents who take home a Sesame Street portrait will also receive special offers from Sesame Workshop licensees Del Monte, Random House, DS Waters, Techno Source, Make It About Me and Village Company through inserts included in 400,000 portrait envelopes. The Sesame Street line of portraits are an addition to Sesame Workshop's current relationship with JCPenney, which includes the exclusive debut of Abby Cadabby apparel for newborns, infants and toddlers, that will be featured at the department store's "FriendShop" hot zones this July and August.
