Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada has released their selections for Gold Star awards for 2005.

(PRWEB) October 24, 2005

The Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada, an association of independently owned toy stores, have selected seven outstanding products to receive this year’s prestigious Gold Star awards. These awards are eagerly referenced by parents across Canada when selecting toys and games for their children for Christmas and year round. The selection process includes countless hours by industry professionals evaluating toys and games for top quality and play value.

“These toys spark your child’s imagination and abilities through interesting and meaningful play” says Gold Star Coordinator, Gale Anthony from Creative Learning.

The 2005 Gold Star winners are:

Fun Slides Carpet Skates imported by PlaSmart Inc.

Hop 45 Ball imported by Pierre Belvedere

Professor Noggin’s Wonders of Science from Outset Media

World of Knights from Schleich North America

Groovy Girls Minis from Manhattan Toy Company

Water Flutes-Tub Tunes imported by Northbridge Trading

Capsela 1000 from Educational Insights

Information on these award winners:

Fun Slides Carpet Skates fit over your runners and allow you to slide on carpet like socks on a hardwood floor. This unique toy offers an alternative to ice-skating and can help develop fundamental hockey skills.

Hop 45 is a durable ball that has stood the test of time. It can be sat and bounced on by children ages three plus and larger balls, Hop 55 and Hop 66, are available for older children.

Schleich’s World of Knights offers fifty quality hand-painted models to collect. Through pretend play children enter the imaginary medieval world of knights, wizards, dragons and castles.

Groovy Girls Minis are bendable miniature misses that are big on style and have funky accessories. The affordable collection makes a great take-a-long toy for traveling and visits.

Wonders of Science game lets children delve into all avenues of science including gravity, time, sound, weather and much more. This trivia game is one of 26 titles in the Professor Noggin’s series

Capsela’s interlocking motorized building system teaches “hands-on” science concepts. Children can build their own working models and see how energy changes with the help of visible gears and wheels.

Water Flutes are real musical instruments that are tuned by your child simply by filling with water. Using the five flutes children eagerly experiment by making a water slide whistle or playing music.
