Epsilen, LLC Names New Chief Executive

Epsilen, LLC, the next-generation global eLearning company, announces the appointment of Evan Nisonson as president and chief executive, effective August 16. Epsilen Environment is a hosted online eLearning solution that offers ePortfolios, global networking, assessment tools, and a learning management system.

Epsilen, LLC, the next-generation global eLearning (http://www. epsilen. com) company, announces the appointment of Evan Nisonson (http://www. epsilen. com) as president and chief executive, effective August 16.

The Epsilen Environment is an innovative global learning (http://www. epsilen. com) system that combines eLearning, the Epsilen ePortfolio (http://www. epsilen. com), and a variety of academic and professional networking (http://www. epsilen. com) capabilities. Epsilen provides a repository of content to meet instructional needs, featuring New York Times articles, multimedia and archives dating back to 1851. In 2008, The New York Times (http://www. epsilen. com) Company became the majority owner of Epsilen.

Most recently, Mr. Nisonson served as senior vice president of strategy and portfolio management at SunGard Higher Education, an education company that provides software and services to help institutions find better ways to teach, learn, manage and connect. Mr. Nisonson joined SunGard Higher Education as chief information officer of client services in 2005. From 1999 to 2005, he was director of eLearning solutions at WebCT, an online proprietary virtual learning environment system known today as the Blackboard Learning System. From 1996 to 1999, he was an instructional technology coordinator at the University of California, Los Angeles, overseeing implementation of academic and related technologies for the university. Before that, Mr. Nisonson was a lecturer in the English department at Loyola Marymount University.

Mr. Nisonson received a bachelor’s degree in English from Columbia College in 1984, a master’s degree in English from Loyola Marymount University in 1995 and a doctorate in literature from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1999.
