Pilot project at Calgary North campus to enhance learning experience for business students
Calgary, AB (Vocus) November 23, 2010
Business students at CDI College’s Calgary North campus will be learning from more than just text books over the next year. On November 1, 2010, 25 Business Administration - Management students became the first post-secondary students in Canada who will receive their education on iPads. Students, instructors and faculty at the campus are part of the college’s year-long pilot project that will explore new avenues of instructional delivery to enhance and improve the learning experience and student success.
In collaboration with Canada’s largest post-secondary book publishers, CDI College has equipped each iPad with an entire compliment of electronic course textbooks as well as a suite of learning enhanced web-based instructional portals.
“The Calgary North campus is known for its innovative application of media-rich, technology-intensive instruction,” says Bohdan Bilan, Vice President of Academics for CDI College. “The campus boasts state-of-the-art wireless and computer technology, laptop-equipped students and classrooms using 52-inch flat screen televisions for instructional delivery. With the iPads and Wi-Fi access, learners will be able to study, take e-notes and review course material not only in class or on campus, but anywhere at any time.”
The iPad pilot project at the Calgary North campus will run for one year. CDI College will run similar pilot projects at campuses in Surrey and Richmond, BC for practical nursing programs. Keep up-to-date with campus events by following CDI College on Facebook and Twitter.
