InstallBuilder 6.0 Enables Automatic Update Delivery, Provides a Cost-Effective Alternative to InstallAnywhere®

BitRock's installer development tool, BitRock InstallBuilder, makes it fast, easy and cost-effective to create cross platform application installers. The new auto-update functionality enables software companies to deliver updates to their users for an improved customer experience and reduced support costs.

Alameda, CA (PRWEB) March 11, 2009

San Francisco, CA. March 11, 2009-- BitRock Inc, the leading provider of cross platform deployment tools and services for software companies and enterprise IT departments, today announced the release of InstallBuilder 6.0. The latest release of the application packaging tool makes it possible to build professional, cross platform installers with just a few mouse clicks. Once an end user has installed a piece of software packaged with InstallBuilder, software companies can deliver updates directly to them. This ensures that users are always running the best available version of their application, which reduces support costs while providing an improved customer experience.

"Providing platform independent software requires an easy to use platform independent installer. BitRock InstallBuilder has removed the overhead of packaging our products for the different platforms and integrates perfectly in our build process," said Tom Ghyselinck, a software developer for Excentis NV. "Furthermore, it streamlined our install process on different platforms. BitRock is also very responsive to questions and suggestions, providing excellent support, which allows us to focus on our own development."

In addition to an expanded GUI and automated update delivery capabilities, InstallBuilder 6.0 also adds support for right to left languages. The first right to left language to be supported is Arabic, bringing the total number of languages supported by InstallBuilder up to 18, with more on the way. This makes it possible for software developers to provide their customers with software installers in their native language.

"InstallBuilder makes cross platform installer development fast and easy, at a very attractive price point," said Erica Brescia, BitRock's CEO. "Our development tool has become the preferred alternative to InstallAnywhere due to its ease of use and ability to create smaller, faster software installers."

Eric Courtois, the CAPS Development Manager at CAPS Enterprise, a BitRock customer, added that "InstallBuilder is a great tool for helping developers who don't want to spend too much time on packaging their software. The fully-customizable installation procedure offers a nice graphical interface that fits the specificities of our product and allows an easy installation on both Linux and Windows platforms."
