ScholarshipPoints. com Announces $12,000 in Scholarships to be Awarded for December

The total free scholarships awarded by Edvisors and ScholarshipPoints. com in 2009 to more than $80,000.

Quincy, MA (PRWEB) December 9, 2009

ScholarshipPoints. com, an Edvisors online education (http://www. edvisors. com/) company, recently awarded $2,000 in free scholarships (http://www. scholarshippoints. com/) for the month of November, will award an additional $12,000 in scholarships for December, and pledges $160,000 for 2010.

The December $10,000 scholarship drawing (Students have until December 15, 2009 to enter) will make 2009 the biggest year ever for the ScholarshipPoints program. After giving away $40,000 in 2008, the amount of scholarship dollars given away this year increased to more than $80,000. In 2010 ScholarshipPoints. com plans to double its scholarship giveaways to over $160,000 including a monthly $10,000 scholarship drawing. "We are true believers in the importance of higher education and we do everything we can to ensure that students have the resources they need to finance their education," said Joe Cronin, CEO of Edvisors. "ScholarshipPoints. com is one way that we help educate students."

Participation in the ScholarshipPoints program is free. Members earn points by participating in surveys, reading helpful blogs, and engaging in other online educational activities. Earned points can be exchanged for entries into the monthly scholarship drawing of their choice. To ensure funds are used for educational purposes, awards are sent directly to the student's financial aid office.

Three separate scholarships were awarded for November. Symone Bagley was the winner of the ScholarshipPoints. com Monthly $1,000 Scholarship. Symone is currently a senior in high school and she will be attending Western Washington University as a marketing major in the fall of 2010. "Just knowing that there is a chunk of my tuition already covered gives me and my family a lot of hope that I can make it through college without an enormous pile of debt," said Symone after winning the scholarship. Caitlyn Mangan of Clarion University and Alex Newsome of Bloomsburg University were the winners of the $500 Zoompanel Scholarship and the $500 Winning Survey Scholarship. They have both expressed their thanks and gratitude toward the ScholarshipPoints program.
