On Friday, May 21, 2004, Dr. Gabriel Toks Pearse officially announced his candidacy for Congressman in BrooklynÂ’s 11th Congressional District in the September 14, 2004 Democratic Primaries.
The announcement ceremony was held at the Brooklyn Marriott Hotel. The Announcement of Dr. PearseÂ’s candidacy attracted over 500 supporters who listened intently and gave Dr. Pearse several standing ovations as he detailed his positions on and plans for resolving the critical issues facing the Central Brooklyn Community. These crucial issues included Education, Housing, Health, Jobs and Immigration.
Dr. Pearse will be running against the incumbent Congressman Major Owens.
