Biomes will be updated weekly with articles and resources to educate and promote awareness of environmental and conservation issues, including interviews with leading environmental experts.

Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) May 8, 2008

The team behind David Calvin's Paradise Earth Project (a multi-phase project centered around rainforest habitat and educational center being built near Phoenix) has just launched a free online magazine called Biomes (www. BiomesOnline. com). Biomes will serve as an information portal to educate the public about environmental and conservation issues, in line with the Paradise Earth mission.

The weekly magazine will feature weekly informative articles on environmental issues and exclusive interviews with environmental experts such as Dr. Thomas Lovejoy and the Smithsonian's Dr. Bill Laurance, two of the world's foremost rainforest scholars. Rare, high quality photographs and videos will also be available from Mandarich Media Group, featuring animals, plants, birds, and scenery from some of the world's endangered biomes. Multi-media recaps from the Paradise Earth Team's fact-finding and documentation trips abroad are also featured.

"Biomes is largely about education," says Tong Wu, the site's Editor-in-Chief. "The public can't care about rainforest conservation or other environmental issues if they're not aware of those issues. Biomes is designed to give the public a rare insider look at the world around them through exclusive expert interviews and photographs and footage of rare animals, birds, and plants they may otherwise never be exposed to. We're even currently in the process of developing a curriculum for secondary education geared towards environmental science and conservation issues, which we plan to make available to educators."

Environmental issues addressed by Biomes staff and contributors include topics such as biofuels, ecotourism, biodiversity, and rainforest habitats and conservation
