New Massage Therapy Certificate Program Enables Students to Reach Career Goals and Enter Workforce Faster
New Program from Boulder College of Massage Therapy Offers Students Innovative Curriculum and Comprehensive Training in Only Nine Months
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) April 7, 2010
Recognizing that the current economic climate is forcing many potential students to make tough decisions about their education plans, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (http://www. bcmt. org) (BCMT) has unveiled a new massage therapy certificate program that enables students to receive superior, comprehensive training and graduate as a certified massage therapist in only nine months. Upon completion of the required 760 hours of coursework, BCMT graduates have the ability to work part-time or full-time and can typically earn an average wage of $45 an hour (including tips) for all massage related work. (2010 AMTA Massage Therapy Industry Fact Sheet).
“Students tell us that they want to enter the workforce as quickly as possible, but not at the expense of quality education and training,” said Carol Brunelli, Director of Enrollment at BCMT. “We understand and admire that motivation, so in response designed this Massage Therapy Certificate Program to fit their educational and financial needs accordingly.”
BCMT’s full-time certificate program is based on an innovative curriculum that includes hands-on course work and learning in the following massage techniques: Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Therapeutic Massage, Normalization of Soft Tissue, Integrative Therapeutic Massage and Practitioner Skills for Special Populations & Conditions. Unlike other massage therapy programs, BCMT offers students a unique mix of personal and professional development courses and service learning opportunities in addition to their standard coursework. This inclusive training approach enables students to explore the complex issues related to building and growing therapeutic relationships while also enhancing their learning by engaging with local community groups.
In addition to BCMT’s Massage Therapy Certificate Program, BCMT also offers an Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree and Continuing Education that allow massage therapists to explore new areas, expand their techniques and gain specialized certifications.
