Physician Group Practices Continue to Choose MicroMD&#174

Physician Group Practices Continue to Choose MicroMD®

MicroMD is the Practice Management Software of Choice

BOARDMAN, Ohio (PRWEB) December 14, 2005 –

December 14, 2005 – Microsys Computing, Inc., developer of the award-winning MicroMD® practice management software, announced today that it achieved 44 new sales to physician groups from September through November 2005. The group practices that recently selected MicroMD are located in 20 states and include 19 different medical and surgical specialties.

“Physicians and practice administrators continue to have confidence in our software development and support staff and in our excellent resellers across the country,” said Ajit Kumar, Ph. D., president, Microsys. “Our recent sales success, combined with our 95 percent customer retention rate, demonstrates that MicroMD is a solid solution for physician groups seeking a full-featured, dependable and affordable practice management system.”

Why are so many physician groups choosing MicroMD? Three new Microsys customers offered comments that reflect the opinions of both new and long-standing MicroMD users:

“We searched for a system with state-of-the-art software technology, fast processing speed and in-depth financial reporting. In addition, to support the growth of our practice, we needed a scaleable system that is also easy for new employees to learn and use,” said Robert C. Bonds, administrator, Urology Associates of South Texas, P. A. (www. UAST. com), McAllen, Texas. “MicroMD met all our requirements, and comparable systems we evaluated cost twice as much.” UAST acquired another urology practice in May 2005 and now has seven physicians practicing in five locations. Its physicians are utilizing the group’s radiology oncology center to participate in a national clinical trial, sponsored by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (www. dfci. harvard. edu), Boston, Mass., to investigate advanced strategies in treating high-risk, early-stage prostate cancer patients with image-guided radiation therapy, androgen suppression therapy and chemotherapy.

Purity Dialysis Centers (www. puritydialysis. com), Waukesha, Wisc., has eight locations where it provides chronic and acute renal replacement services for patients with end stage renal failure. Its integrated healthcare teams include a dialysis education coordinator, a renal dietitian and social worker to assist patients in managing their conditions. Purity Dialysis Centers also manages billing for a local nephrology group practice. “We looked at several practice management systems to meet the needs of both our dialysis centers and the physician group, and MicroMD seemed to be the best fit, especially to accommodate the specialized requirements of dialysis billing,” said Lisa Drew, administrator. “MicroMD is very user friendly, and we were also impressed with its reporting capabilities,” added Tina Waldron, billing supervisor.

Alliance Community Hospital (www. achosp. org), Alliance, Ohio, is a non-profit hospital licensed for 184 beds. They own four physician group practices with a total of 14 internists, emergency medicine specialists and hospitalists. In 2005, Alliance decided to replace their existing practice management system for the physician groups and selected MicroMD. “MicroMD has interfaces to other applications in use today at the hospital and physician offices,” said Dale W. Wells, chief operating officer, Alliance Community Hospital. “With features such as online scheduling and wireless, mobile computing for physicians, MicroMD will support our growth in the years ahead by helping increase our efficiency and productivity.” And Debbie King, manager of the central billing office, offered this summary statement: “After comparing five practice management system alternatives based on quality, costs and ease of use, we concluded the MicroMD provides the best value.”
