Career Development for the HR Professional - Penn State to Hold Human Resources Workshop Series

Penn State will offer practical, up-to-date information for human resource professionals. This series of HR programs will be held this spring.

Penn State will hold a series of programs this spring designed to offer the human resources (HR) professional practical, up-to-date information. The Human Resource Workshop Series includes "Employment Law Update," "What Employers Need to Know about Workplace Diversity" and "Best Practices in Human Resource Management."

"Employment Law Update" provides an update on recent developments in federal and state employment law. The workshop will be held at Monroeville on May 13, at Great Valley on May 20, and at University Park on June 10.

"What Employers Need to Know about Workplace Diversity" will use participative learning techniques to better understand workforce diversity. This career-development workshop for the HR professional will be held May 14 at Monroeville.

"Best Practices in Human Resource Management" will be held May 21 at Great Valley and June 11 at University Park. The workshop will review the literature and research on best HR practices, as well as examples of companies that are on the cutting edge of the human resource field.

All workshops will be held 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. This series of career-development workshops for the HR professional is an outreach program of the College of the Liberal Arts and the Center for Professional Education.
